WATCH: Alvin Kamara video footage shows Saints RB raining down blows on a man during Vegas altercation
New Orleans Saints star Alvin Kamara finds himself in deep trouble. Footage of his brawl with a man in Las Vegas during last season's Pro Bowl has just taken the NFL world by storm.
The star running back was arrested back in February after he and his friends were accused of assaulting a man at The Cromwell Hotel and Casino. The Saints star has since been indicted on battery charges by a grand jury in Nevada, alongside Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chris Lammons and two others.
New footage of the fight acquired by TMZ shows Kamara and his friends unloading on the man after getting into an argument outside an elevator. According to a lawsuit filed by Darnell Greene, the altercation went down after the running barred Greene from getting on the elevator by force.
In the video, he can be seen throwing multiple blows at Greene. The running back's friends joined in and stomped Greene before clearing out the premises. As per the lawsuit, he suffered injuries to his back, neck, head, shoulder, knees and even fractured his right orbital bone.
Will Alvin Kamara be suspended from the NFL?
Alvin Kamara's future in the NFL is currently uncertain. As court proceedings are carried out, Greene is suing the Saints star for $10 million for the injuries he sustained. According to police documents, the Saints running back even admitted to committing the crime back when he was arrested in February.
So far, the running back has avoided any suspension. But with a decision regarding the matter inching closer in court, it is expected that Kamara will miss some playing time. The NFL has dished out heavy suspensions in the past for such cases and if found guilty, the Saints star too is likely to follow suit.
A preliminary hearing will be held on March 1 in Las Vegas to ascertain whether there's enough evidence against the persons involved.
As things stand, the NFL has not yet announced a suspension.
