What happened to Odell Beckham Jr.? Free agent WR kicked off plane for unruly behavior
Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. found himself in an interesting situation just days before he was set to visit the New York Giants. On Sunday in Miami, Beckham was reportedly escorted off an American Airlines flight that was headed to Los Angeles.
Flight attendants had apparently asked OBJ to put his seatbelt on as he fell in and out of consciousness. He refused to do so and also refused to leave the plane on his own accord. This forced the flight crew to vacate the entire plane and all passengers were ordered to disembark. This caused the plane and the remaining passengers' departure to be delayed.
A video of the wide receiver walking out of the terminal alongside law enforcement officials has also surfaced on Twitter. Passengers from the flight can be seen in the video waiting to reboard.
The free agent took to Twitter on Sunday and posted somewhat cryptic messages just before the news of his incident on the plane surfaced. He tweeted that he had never in his life experienced what had happened to him and that he had 'seen it all'.
No further information was given about the incident or if Odell Beckham Jr. was allowed to board another flight on his route to the west coast.
Could a reunion with the New York Giants be in Odell Beckham Jr.'s future?
The wideout was medically cleared to return to football last week and will now make his visits to various NFL teams. The New York Giants, who drafted Beckham in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, are on the travel docket for the wide receiver to visit. The Giants, who slipped to third place in the NFC East with two consecutive losses, could use a wide receiver to bolster their offense.
OBJ is also expected to visit the Dallas Cowboys in the coming days as they have shown interest in acquiring the wide receiver as well. Adding a veteran wide receiver could also be an upgrade for the Cowboys.
However, with the recent news of his encounter on the American Airlines flight in Miami, there's no telling if there will be any ramifications that could prohibit him from signing in the days to come.
