What happened to Todd Downing? Titans OC arrested after team's win over Packers
Todd Downing, the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator, was arrested for DUI hours following their victory over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night. He was arrested early Friday morning by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The offensive coordinator was cited for driving under the influence and speeding and was booked into the Williamson County jail at exactly 4:30 a.m. Downing was released from the jail around 7 a.m. Friday morning.
Why was Todd Downing arrested?
Per the arrest report, an officer pulled Downing over after his car was driving at an accelerated speed. Also, Downing’s vehicle reportedly had an odor of intoxicants. The Titans’ team plane left Green Bay just after midnight Central Time and landed back in Nashville at 2:00 am. Downing was pulled over around 2:30 a.m. by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Will Todd Downing be suspended?
It seems more than likely that Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel will suspend Downing.
The number of games is unknown, but some sort of discipline could be in order. We'll see if the NFL gets involved and hands down a suspension as well. Britt Reid was an assistant on the Kansas City Chiefs staff when he was suspended for his DUI last year.
