What is Patrick Mahomes’ lucky charm? Brittany Mahomes spills the beans
Patrick Mahomes is just hours away from leading the Kansas City Chiefs to their third Super Bowl appearance in four seasons. The success the Chiefs have had the last few seasons has been remarkable and according to Brittany Mahomes, the Chiefs QB has a good luck charm that might be the cause.
In an interview from 2018, Brittany Mahomes revealed some details on "Shootin' It with Sophie Julia" about her relationship. She discussed how the two began their relationship as friends before dating and their journey to the NFL.
During that discussion, she mentioned that she bought him lucky underwear, red to be exact, from Lululemon. She went on to say that he wears them on every gameday:
“I bought Patrick lucky game day underwear — red underwear from Lululemon — and he’s worn them every game day.”
While the interview is from five years ago, it's not known whether the quarterback has kept the tradition alive and still wears the underwear on gamedays.
But clearly Patrick Mahomes does have luck on his side as the success on the field has culminated into another Super Bowl appearance tonight.
Peyton Manning believes Patrick Mahomes is already a HOF
Peyton Manning was a first ballot Hall of Famer after winning two Super Bowls (one with the Indianapolis Colts and one with the Denver Broncos) and countless other accolades.
His success in the NFL gives him some experience as to who will likely wear a gold jacket and be enshrined in Canton. On Friday night, TMZ caught up with Manning and asked him if the Chiefs quarterback is a no-doubt Hall of Famer.
Manning said that he absolutely believes that Patrick Mahomes will be in the Hall of Fame, but that he knows the quarterback isn't thinking that way just yet. He said Mahomes is just focused on Super Bowl LVII and that is exactly what he should be doing.
“I don’t think Patrick thinks in those terms. Patrick is in the moment, right? He won his second MVP last night, was a no brainer, but the fact that he’s in his third Super Bowl in four years, that’s all he cares about.
"But yes, the answer to that question is yes, but that’s just not on his radar. And it shouldn’t be, he should be in the moment and kicking butt for the Chiefs.”
At just 27 years old, Patrick Mahomes has more conference championships than Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers. So, it's safe to say that a gold jacket will be in his future, long down the road.
