What did Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce do at Chiefs Super Bowl parade?
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce led the way for the Kansas City Chiefs in yesterday's Super Bowl parade, just like they do on the field. Both the quarterback and tight end for the Chiefs were ecstatic after their team won the Super Bowl for the second time in four years.
This Super Bowl win meant a lot to the Chiefs as they were doubted throughout the season and some even predicted them to miss the playoffs. As a result, Mahomes and Kelce didn't hold back while reflecting on everything that was said about their team this year.
The best duo in football certainly didn't let down the thousands of Chiefs supporters who showed up for the Super Bowl LVII parade.
Patrick Mahomes walked down the streets during the Super Bowl parade
Despite winning the Super Bowl and two MVP awards this year, Patrick Mahomes remained modest as he celebrated the victory with his fans in the streets. He came down from the parade bus, walked down to the crowd, and high-fived and took pictures with the excited fans.
Apart from celebrating with fans, the Chiefs quarterback also had his words ready that he was waiting to say throughout the season. Here's what Mahomes said during the Super Bowl parade:
“Before we started this season, the AFC West said we were rebuilding… I’m gonna be honest with you I don’t know what rebuilding means.”
This season was certainly termed a rebuilding year for the Kansas City Chiefs as they lost both Tyreek Hill and Tyrann Mathieu heading into this past season. However, the Chiefs' no. 15 doesn't believe any season is a rebuilding year for them considering the talent they have on their roster.
The Chiefs head into next season with a plethora of draft picks and cap size. They look destined to win many more Super Bowls in the future, and Mahomes is ready for it.
Travis Kelce had a message for Chiefs haters at the Super Bowl parade
Everyone was waiting for Travis Kelce to speak during the Super Bowl parade, and the Chiefs tight end didn't disappoint anyone. He called out everyone who doubted his team heading into the season and said that the Chiefs will miss the playoffs.
Similar to what he did after the Super Bowl win, Kelce involved the fans during his speech and the whole crowd erupted. Star Chiefs DT Chris Jones also started the "Run it Back" chants as the team looks to win back-to-back Super Bowl titles.
Fans in Kansas City certainly enjoyed the Super Bowl parade as all the players were actively engaged with them both on the streets and during the speech as well. Whether or not the Chiefs will repeat themselves as Super Bowl champions remains to be seen, but the franchise is perfectly placed for it.
