What did Tom Brady say to Patrick Mahomes after Chiefs QB’s first playoff loss? League MVP spilled beans on Jimmy Fallon show

Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady have a fantastic relationship, and the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has referred to Brady as the "GOAT" on numerous occasions. The Chiefs quarterback is off to a great start in his NFL career, and some believe he might even surpass Brady's greatness in the future

Mahomes had a chance to reach the Super Bowl in his first season as the Chiefs' starting quarterback in 2019, but Brady and the Patriots stopped him in the AFC Championship Game. Following that loss, Mahomes revealed to Jimmy Fallon what Brady said to him after the game.

If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes will have won 2 Super Bowls and 2 NFL MVPs within the first 6 seasons his career.

That would be 5 seasons faster than any other QB in NFL history (Tom Brady, 11).

So much success - team and individual - already.

Here's what Mahomes said on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in 2019:

"So, they're in all the excitement of them, they won the game and we were kind of just walking off the field after that heartbreaking loss at home. I didn't talk to him after the game and so when I was kind of in the locker room, walking about the walkout, actually he came in."

Mahomes continued:

"They got the security to let him in and he just kind of said, ‘Man, you had a heck of a season’. He knew he knows what it's like to win a lot of big games. He knows what it's like to lose some big games, not many, but a few."

He added:

"So, and so he just said, ‘Man, you got to keep grinding.’ He loved the way that I played and it was awesome for him to do that and kind of show that class at such an exciting moment."

Tom Brady has twice prevented Patrick Mahomes from winning the Super Bowl, first with the Patriots and then with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mahomes could add some Super Bowl rings to his resume now that the seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback has retired.

Mahomes is now the league's face, and he has large shoes to fill. It will be interesting to observe how his career evolves, given expectations are fairly high.

Patrick Mahomes has already won two MVP awards, one Super Bowl MVP award, and is about to play in his third Super Bowl. He's chasing Brady's greatness, and if he wins his second Super Bowl on Sunday, he could certainly make a claim to Brady's throne.

Like nothing we've ever seen before.

In just five seasons as a starting quarterback in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes has already established his place among the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, which is quite remarkable. There is no doubt that the Kansas City Chiefs will be Super Bowl contenders as long as Mahomes plays for them.
