When Tyreek Hill's hilarious dig took Travis Kelce back to the '2-star QB' era

Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill shares a strong brotherly bond with Kansas City TE Travis Kelce, as they were former teammates and won Super Bowl LIV together. The duo played together for six years till 2021 when Hill departed for Miami. But they probably share the camaraderie like before. Although fans don’t get to notice much of it these days since Kelce is probably too busy for Hill now.

Back in 2020, things were different when Hill paired up with Patrick Mahomes to set NFL defenses in shatters. The pair delivered 4,638 yards and 46 TDs together. Hill was also close to Kelce back then and he publicly joked around with his former teammates. Hill would change his profile picture to something that both fans and Kelce himself laughed off.

Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill roast each other publicly

On Nov. 7, 2020, Hill posted a picture of Travis Kelce from the latter’s high school days as his new profile picture on X. The caption read, “#NewProfilePic.” The picture was taken when Kelce was playing for his high school, Cleveland Heights High School, in Ohio, and under the recruitment process of Rivals.com in 2007.

The picture brought back nostalgic memories and some laughter from Kelce and Mahomes, who responded on X. While Mahomes responded with laughter emojis, Kelce tweeted,

“@cheetah 😂😂😂 2 ⭐️ QB outta Cleveland Heights, OH!!”

Kelce dug deeper to bring more dirt into the joke as he changed his profile pic to a picture of Hill from the latter’s playing days at Coffee High School in Douglas, Georgia. However, unsurprisingly Hill was labelled a four-star recruit by ESPN in 2013 with offers from multiple D1 programs like Alabama, Florida, USC, Texas, and Oklahoma.

On the contrary, Kelce, a QB till then, received a two-star rating by 247Sports and zero stars from ESPN in 2007.

Travis Kelce is 'too famous' for Tyreek Hill

Though the trio doesn’t hang out together much now, Tyreek Hill seems to have continued carrying the same sentiments for them as before. In January, he said that Travis Kelce hadn’t responded to his texts.

“I texted Kelce,” Hill said. “He still hasn’t texted me back.”
“He’s probably still on his Taylor Swift thing… But yeah, man, those guys are too famous for me now, I guess.”

In the same interview, he said he had no contact with QB Mahomes either. Two days after the interview, the Chiefs beat Miami 26-7 on January 13 in the Wild Card weekend of the 2023 NFL Playoffs.
