Why the Chiefs may have found their next Tyreek Hill as Xavier Worthy arrives in 2024 NFL Draft
Xavier Worthy has been much-discussed since being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. The call was made to move up to No. 28, ensuring Worthy would be on his way to Arrowhead. While Patrick Mahomes found a way to be unstoppable despite no shortages of woes at WR in the last two years, that problem appears to have been resolved.
Worthy ran the fastest 40 in NFL combine history (4.21) and Marquise Brown is no slouch either at 4.27. That's alongside last year's breakout Rashee Rice, whose status is up in the air, but it seems he will feature to some degree in 2024. Just like that, the speed that made Tyreek Hill so dangerous has now been replicated with Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown.
Worthy is a legit deep threat and given the success Mahomes and Hill had together, Chiefs fans are excited to see if he can replicate the same with Worthy. This pick is a game-changer.
Xavier Worthy could be the highlight of a stacked 2024 receiving class
Three wide receivers went within the top 10 draft picks last night. Marvin Harrison Jr, Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze made their way to Arizona, New York and Chicago. The first 14 picks of the draft were all offensive players which showcases the talent available this year. Brian Thomas Jr. went at the 23rd pick and was the fourth and final WR taken before Worthy.
Based on the pieces around them, Xavier Worthy probably has the best chance of winning OROTY out of all the wide receivers in this class. Worthy is potentially even quicker than Tyreek Hill, who is the biggest YAC machine we have seen in the NFL in the last decade.
If Worthy can have a career similar to Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs could just be getting started and their dynasty might be far from over.
