Why did Snapchat suspend Antonio Brown?
Snapchat, the popular photo-sharing social media app, has suspended former NFL wide receiver, Antonio Brown. This came after he shared a sexually explicit photo of himself and the mother of his children, Chelsie Kyriss.
Kyriss had reported him for sharing the images, which she had pleaded with Brown to keep private. She said:
"I have reported his page and all pictures. Unfortunately, Snapchat is allowing him to repost. I am very sorry for any of your kids that follow him and used to look at him as a role model. I do not condone these actions as you are aware I have kids involved as well."
As of now, it seems Snapchat has at least heard her pleas and responded by suspending the enigmatic former NFL star.
Snapchat's community guidelines do prohibit accounts that promote or distribute pornographic content, which is what Brown did in this case.
The guidelines also state that they have zero tolerance for bullying or harassment of any kind. Kyriss was clearly being harassed by this intimate image of her being shared without her consent.
The photo was taken down from Snapchat but was seen and shared on many different social media platforms.
This is not the first time Brown has been embroiled in Snapchat controversy. He shared a photoshopped image of Gisele Bundchen's face on a nude body last year.
Antonio Brown's Snapchat post could be the final nail in his NFL career
It was already very unlikely that any NFL team would have given Antonio Brown another shot, if he even wanted one. He is routinely in legal trouble or making headlines for backing controversial figures.
The former wide receiver was going to be a tough sell for any team's management, but after harassing his ex by sharing explicit photos to his social media (which may have been viewed by minors), that is even tougher.
Brown hasn't said if he wants to return to football. That's probably a good thing since he has very little shot at convincing a team that he can behave for long enough to make an impact on the field.
