Will the Buffalo Bills get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl in 2023-24?

Although the Buffalo Bills have been one of the NFL's top teams over the last few years, they've failed to make a Super Bowl appearance. Will the result be any different during the 2023-24 season?

The New England Patriots won the AFC East for 11 consecutive years from 2009 to 2019. But since Tom Brady left, the Bills have taken over winning the division the past three seasons.

Buffalo lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2020-21 AFC Championship game. Despite leading 36-33 with 13 seconds remaining in regulation, they fell to the Chiefs the following year as well during the divisional round.

With 0:13 left and up 36-33, the Bills had a 91% chance to win according to ESPN's win probability.

Last season, the Bills were one of the teams predicted to make and win the Super Bowl. However, they were defeated in the divisional round once again, this time by Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Do the Buffalo Bills have the personnel needed to make a Super Bowl run in 2023-24?

Buffalo has lost a few solid players via free agency this offseason. Running back Devin Singletary, who was the team's leading rusher, signed a deal with the Houston Texans. Two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Tremaine Edmunds left town for the Chicago Bears. Yet, the Bills are still stacked with talent on both sides of the ball, making them a Super Bowl contender for the 2023-24 season as well.

Quarterback Josh Allen is absolutely one of the top signal-callers in the game today. He still has Stefon Diggs to throw to, giving Buffalo one of the league's most dynamic quarterback-wide receiver duos. Diggs was phenomenal last season, producing 108 catches for 1,429 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns.

James Cook will take over as the starting running back and it's possible the team could draft former Texas Longhorns star Bijan Robinson, providing an explosive one-two punch. They could also sign Ezekiel Elliott, who was released by the Dallas Cowboys earlier this offseason.

Defensively, the Bills possess quality pieces like Gregory Rousseau, Micah Hyde, Von Miller, and Jordan Poyer. Hyde and Miller missed time due to injuries in 2022, but both are expected to return next season.

There's no question that the Bills have the talent to make and win a Super Bowl. Accomplishing the feat will be really difficult, though, with rivals like the Chiefs and Bengals in the way.
