“You weird for that” – Jets star Sauce Gardner asks Barstool founder Dave Portnoy to grow up after Angel Reese take
Following LSU's victory over Iowa in the national championship last night, New York Jets standout cornerback Sauce Gardner appears to have issues with Bartstool Sports founder, Dave Portney.
Last night, the LSU Tigers became national champions in women's basketball. They defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes by a score of 102-85.
The most viral moment of the game came when junior guard Angel Reese was caught mocking Iowa point guard Caitlin Clark in victory.
This caused Porntoy to throw a shot at her, calling her a piece of s**t. That's when Gardner called out Portnoy and called him weird.
Gardner Tweeted:
"She like a whole sophomore in college and you a grown man. You weird for that. You got some growing up to do I see."
After receiving backlash for his Tweet, fans and media were quick to criticize Portnoy for his Tweet.
He clarified:
"For all the dummies out there who don't understand why Angel Reese is #classless it's because she taunted Clark with 10 seconds left in a game that was long over. Talking shit in the moment is 1 thing. Doing it when she did was #classless and that's why it's trending."
This caused Gardner to respond again to Portnoy as he called him out for his opinion on a female college basketball player.
He responded:
"Shut up. “Classless” is one thing (your opinion), but “classless piece of shit” is excessive coming from a GROWN MAN who is talking about a FEMALE SOPHOMORE who just won a ring…. I should be calling you that because of what you tweeted."
Many people would seem to agree with Gardner in the debate. Reese just showed her competitive side and gave Clark a taste of her own medicine as he was seen making the same gesture to other defeated opponents.
Sauce Gardner and the New York Jets are looking to make a big leap in 2023
Sauce Gardner quickly came onto the scene as a rookie. He led the league in passes defensed with 20, recorded 75 tackles, and two interceptions while winning Offensive Rookie of the Year.
They finished 7-10 last season but showed flashes of potential. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Running back Breece Hall showed signs of being a star running back.
The team is expected to acquire Aaron Rodgers. They've added his former wide receiver Allen Lazard in free agency and acquired WR Mecole Hardman from the Chiefs.
Do you think the Jets will make the playoffs in 2023?
