Zach Charbonnet Fantasy Outlook: Should you draft Seahawks RB in 2024?
Zach Charbonnet is entering his second year in the league. After an underwhelming first season, the Seattle Seahawks running back is appearing on some fantasy managers' draft boards now. Is he a good pick? Here's everything you need to know about his fantasy outlook in 2024:
Is Zach Charbonnet a good fantasy pick?
Zach Charbonnet is not a great fantasy pick. While he can provide some value and could be a good choice depending on how far he slides on draft boards, Charbonnet does not offer a lot of upside.
His 2023 numbers were uninspiring, with 108 carriers and one touchdown in 16 games played. With a healthy Kenneth Walker III in front of him, Charbonnet is unlikely to see much increase in carriers this year. He's an interesting option, but probably not someone fantasy managers should specifically target for their team.
Should you draft Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet in 2024?
The only reason to draft a backup running back is as a handcuff. Zach Charbonnet could be a useful option if Walker gets injured, but expecting him to have a good year is far-fetched.
Walker has been a top running back for the past two seasons, and even though Charbonnet is not an afterthought, the lion's share of the carries will go to Walker.
Late in the draft, it's a good idea to select possible injury replacements and handcuffs to fill out your bench. That's where Charbonnet can be an enticing, if not great, pick in fantasy football.
Zach Charbonnet's 2023 stats, 2024 fantasy outlook and ADP
Charbonnet did not see much playtime in his rookie season. He started two games in relief of Walker, who was hurt, and played in 16 games total. He recorded 108 carries for 462 yards (4.28 per carry) and one touchdown. He also caught 33 passes for 209 yards. Last season, he was ranked 162nd in fantasy.
Charbonnet is unlikely to break out and exceed those numbers this year. Barring an injury to Walker or some unforeseen change in production, Charbonnet will remain a backup with only marginal increases in his stats.
Currently, he is being drafted around the 127th pick overall.
Where should you draft Zach Charbonnet?
As with every NFL player, the merit of a pick depends on where they are selected. For instance, Joe Mixon is a good pick, but not in the second round, and the same applies to Zach Charbonnet. If you're selecting a handcuff player whose value is based on the starter's workload, it's best to do so in the later rounds.
