"Dreams do come true" - Zach Wilson facing Aaron Rodgers prompts Jets QB's father to write emotional message

Zach Wilson is entering his second season in the NFL as the quarterback for the New York Jets. The second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft will face Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field this week. Growing up in Utah, the 23-year-old quarterback looked up to Rodgers, according to his father.

On Twitter, Zach's father, Mike, shared a photo of his son with the reigning league MVP with these words:

"Dreams do come true! I can’t tell you how many times @ZachWilson and I have watched Rodgers on tv or studied his every movement on YouTube. Today he gets a chance to play against him. Parents if your child has a dream, embrace it. Sometimes dreams do come true."

Studying the way a quarterback of Rodgers' caliber plays isn't all that bad if you're Wilson. The Packers quarterback is in his 18th season in the NFL and is the reigning league MVP. So far, Rodgers has Green Bay sitting with a 3-2 record and second in the NFC North.

Like his idol, the second-year Jets quarterback has his team sitting with an identical 3 - 2 record and tied for second in the AFC East. The former BYU quarterback hopes to have a better year than what he had in his rookie season.

He started 13 games last year for the Jets, throwing for 2,334 yards, nine touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. However, Rodgers only played in three games in his rookie season back in 2005, throwing for just 65 yards. He got the starting job for the Packers in 2008.

Now, both quarterbacks are looking to get their teams their fourth win of the 2022 season. In a matchup of the future and present at the quarterback position in the NFL, we'll see which team comes out on top.
