The Dallas Stars started as the Minnesota North Stars in the year 1967 and completed in the West Division until the 1974-75 season. Soon after, they merged with the Cleveland Barons and assumed play in the Adams division. However, low attendance and declining revenue led the team to shift to Dallas as their base. They also adopted their present name around the same time and have been using is ever since.
Since relocating to Dallas, the team has played 30 seasons out of which they have made the playoffs in 19 occasions. Notably, they won their first and only Stanley Cup in 1998-99 and have added six divison championships and two conference championships to their collection. Interestingly, they also had two division championships and a sole conference championship triumph as the Minnesota North Stars.
Dallas Stars Regular Season Schedule 2024-25
The Dallas Stars have announced their 2024-25 regular-season schedule, which begins on October 10 against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. The home opener will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the American Airlines Center, where the Stars will face the New York Islanders, kicking off a three-game homestand. Throughout the season, the Stars will host a total of 30 opponents at American Airlines Center, with matchups against Central Division, Pacific Division, and Eastern Conference teams. Most home games will start at 7 p.m. CT. The schedule includes 19 weekend home games, with six on Fridays, eight on Saturdays, and six on Sundays.The month of December will be especially packed with home games, as the Stars will play nine times at AAC, including a six-game homestand from Dec. 8-20. January and March will see the Stars on the road for eight games each, with the longest road trip of five games taking place from Jan. 7-14.The regular-season schedule will pause from Feb. 10-21 for the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, featuring NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States.
