10 Gen VIII Pokemon you should save Master Ball for in Pokemon GO
With the introduction of the Dynamax and Gigantamax mechanics to Pokemon GO and the debut of new Gen VIII Pokemon with the start of the Max Out season, players are wondering which monster they should catch with their Master Ball. The Master Ball is a special Poke Ball that guarantees a catch, meaning it always succeeds in capturing a Pokemon. However, trainers can only keep a few of the Master Balls in their inventory.
As of this writing, the developer Niantic has offered three Master Balls to players. The first one was given as part of the Special Research Let's Go task. The second one was provided to those who completed the Masterwork Research: Catching Wonders. Lastly, the third one was obtainable by finishing the Timed Investigation: Master Ball.
If you're planning on using a Master Ball to catch Gen VIII Pokemon in Pokemon GO, then here are 10 such monsters that you should consider using it on.

10 Gen VII Pokemon you should catch with Master Ball in Pokemon GO
1) Regidrago
Regidrago is one of the famous Gen VIII Pokemon from the Galar region in Pokemon GO. It is a Legendary species and comes from the Regi family, which has Regirock, Regice, Registeel, and Regieleki as its members. The Master Ball you have kept to use on a powerhouse could be used on a Regidrago because you don’t want to miss out on owning a Legendary critter in your account.
You can get Regidrago in Pokemon GO by defeating 5-star Raid Battles featuring the creature or receiving a monster encounter reward by winning matches in the GO Battle League. Whichever path you choose, you should throw your Master Ball at it to catch it in one go.
2) Zacian
Another formidable force to include in your Pokemon GO collection is Zacian. Known as the Warrior Pokemon, it belongs to the Legendary species and is a member of the Hero Duo. Zacian has no evolutionary lines, which means this Gen VIII Pokemon cannot be obtained through evolution.
5-star Raids that feature Zacian as a Boss can be taken down to encounter and catch Zacian in Pokemon GO. Also, you can complete games in GO Battle League to get a Zacian encounter reward. Once you find it, throw your Master Ball at it without second guessing to capture it.
3) Obstagoon
Obstagoon is a dual Normal- and Dark-type Pocket Monster that evolves from Galarian Linoone after consuming 100 candies. You should not use your Master Ball on Pokemon that aren’t on this list since they may not be strong for battles.
Obstagoon is a good choice for a Master Ball because it is a powerful creature. This Gen VIII Pokemon can be obtained through the evolution process, and in such cases, you don't need a Poke Ball with a 100% catch rate to get it.
Nevertheless, you will need a Master Ball to capture Obstagoon in the overworld if you happen to partake in special events that feature the monster. Trainers were encouraged to complete Field Notes: Galarian Zigzagoon to acquire Galarian Zigzagoon in the past. Make sure you always keep a spare Master Ball since you might get a chance to throw it at Obstagoon in the future.
4) Zamazenta
Zamazenta, a monster that first appeared in Sword and Shield, is now in Pokemon GO. This Legendary is a part of the Hero Duo group, which has Zacian as a team partner. These creatures are rare finds in the game that can only be obtained during special battles.
In the Pokemon world, Zamazenta is also known as the Warrior Pokemon. Collectors who don't have it yet should remember to utilize a Master Ball to capture it.
Those who want to get this creature in Pokemon GO by throwing a Master Ball should defeat Zamazenta 5-star raids or complete skirmishes in the GO Battle League.
5) Regieleki
Regieleki is a single Electric-type Legendary Pokemon hailing from the Galar region. The Regi family is incomplete without this powerful entity. Niantic debuted Regieleki in Pokemon GO on April 9, 2023. Notably, the Electron Pokemon is capable of controlling the ambiance of different battle scenarios.
Defeating the Raid Battles featuring Regieleki is one way to add the creature to your collection. In addition, the second method would be to collect Regieleki's encounter reward by winning fights in the GO Battle League. The Pokemon should appear in the overworld once you defeat Raids or GBL, and you can then toss your Master Ball at it.
6) Corviknight
We still have to wait to get Corvikinght in Pokemon GO, however, it's not too far away. Raised and grown in the areas of the Galar region, Croviknight is a Flying- and Steel-type Gen VIII Pokemon. It is said that this creature possesses extraordinary skills to battle in the sky and a high intelligence.
Corviknight has the potential to Gigantamax in the mainline games. Therefore, there is a possibility that when Niantic officially debuts new Gen VIII Pokemon, we may see the introduction of Corviknight. Until then, your Master Ball should be in good hands. Make sure you snag this beast once it makes its way into the game.
7) Galarian forms of Articuno, Moltres, or Zapdos
The three Legendary Pokemon from the Galar region that you can encounter and catch in the wild are Galarian Articuno, Galarian Moltres, and Galarain Zapdos. Each of these monsters is powerful on its own, and they rule the skies of Galar.
While Galarian Articuno is a dual Psychic- and Flying-type, Galarian Moltres is a Dark- and Flying-type, and Galarian Zapdos is a Fighting- and Flying-type species.
Getting your hands on the Galarian forms of Articuno, Moltres, or Zapdos is not easy in Pokemon GO. Since they have a low catch rate and a high flee rate, using the Master Ball on them would be the best course of action collectors can take.
8) Eternatus
Eternatus was first introduced in Sword and Shield games for the Nintendo Switch. The Master Balls that you have stored to contain a robust Gen VIII Pokemon in Pokemon GO can be used for this Poison- and Dark-type Legendary Pokemon.
Legendary Pokemon, such as Groudon or Zacian, primarily appear in high-tier raids. Trainers have to defeat them by exploiting their weaknesses.
You should keep a Master Ball handy for when this Gen 8 Pocket Monster makes its debut through Raid Battles. Once you take Eternatus down, you should greet the spawn creatures with an excellent Master Ball throw.
9) Glastrier
Another Legendary Pokemon to use a Master Ball on is none other than the Ice-type Glastrier of Galar. Like many other legendaries in the game, this creature doesn't have an evolutionary line. Glastrier has yet to be introduced to Pokemon GO, and the release of its Shiny form is still miles away.
Glastrier is a member of the King and Steeds, a group of Legendary species, which includes Spectrier and Calyrex. This creature is highly sought after by fans, so you will definitely want to consider saving Master Fall for it.
10) Spectrier
Powerhouses like Spectrier are desired by so many trainers, and the creature will likely debut in Pokemon GO soon. It is another member of the King and Steeds, with its design resembling a mythical unicorn. In fact, each of the King and Steeds member's designs is based on a unicorn, with different color schemes, features, and appearances.
Spectirer will likely enter the game world through 5-star Raid Battles or as a Research Tasks Pokemon encounter reward. When this happens, keep in mind that a Pokemon GO Master Ball can catch the monster instantly.
