3 reasons Pokemon GO trainers should be excited for Legendary Heroes
Pokemon GO's upcoming Legendary Heroes event is set to take place on September 26, 2024. With the celebration right around the corner, some players may be wondering what makes the event so special. Thankfully, Niantic has released information regarding the event on their official website, so we know everything that's set to hit the title during Legendary Heroes.
Since this event revolves around the Galar region, players can expect many creatures from the land to make an appearance. However, the roster of creatures on their way will surely get competitive and casual players excited. Here are three reasons players should look forward to the upcoming Legendary Heroes event in Pokemon GO.

3 highlights from Pokemon GO's Legendary Heroes
1) Galarian Weezing Evolution
Galarian Weezing is a creature only known to appear in exclusive raids, despite evolving from the same species of Koffing as the standard Kantonian variant. However, in the main series, only Koffing in the Galar region have the capacity to evolve into this form.
During the Legendary Heroes event, players will be able to evolve their Koffing into Galarian Weezing for the same candy cost as the standard variant. This form of Weezing also has the additional Fairy typing, making it a bit more complex than the standard variant. This variant is also preferred for competitive play over the Kantonian species.

Koffing can be found in increased quantities in the wild during Pokemon GO's Legendary Heroes event. Players will also be able to find one in its shiny variant, giving them a way to get their hands on a Shiny Galarian Weezing during the celebration.
2) Zacian's Return
Zacian will be the Five-Star Raid Boss players can expect to see during the Legendary Heroes event. The Pocket Monster's Hero of Many Battles form will be available during the event. Hero of Many Battles Zacian is a pure Fairy-type, a stark contrast to the iconic Crowned form's Fairy and Steel typing.
This event will also mark the debut of Zacian's shiny variant in Niantic's mobile title. Zacian's shiny variant has never been available in the main series outside of event distributions, making this quite a big deal for shiny hunters across the Pokemon community. This also means players can catch a Shiny Zacian in GO, then transfer it to their Pokemon Home account for use in Nintendo Switch titles.
Zacian's Crowned form sports the secondary Steel typing, as well as a 30-point increase to its attack and a 10-point boost to speed in the main series. Given this, when Niantic eventually brings the Crowned form of Zacian into the game, it will most likely be treated like a Mega Evolution, requiring "crowned energy" to reach this state. However, this is just mere speculation.
3) Split Timed Research paths
The Legendary Heroes event will be one of the few events to feature a split research path. Once the event begins, players will have the choice of following the Sword Path or the Shield Path. Whichever path the player chooses will dictate the wild Pokemon that can be spawned by Incenses, research encounters, alongside what monsters appear in their collection challenge.

These sorts of split research have become more common in recent days, but they are still quite a special occurrence. This offers a new level of interactivity with Pokemon GO not commonly seen in standard gameplay. These split paths also offer monsters that are version-exclusives in the main series.
Since the collection challenge will most likely include the path-exclusive creatures the player chooses, it would be a good idea to stock up on Incenses before the event begins. The Daily Adventure Incense all players receive for free once per day will also be helpful for these collection challenges.
