5 best PvE picks to farm during December Community Day 2024

Pokemon GO's December Community Day is almost upon us, and players around the world are gearing up for arguably the most exciting time of the year. Unlike other Community Day events, December’s Community Day will feature every monster that received one of these events through the year of 2024.

This year, many creatures that excel in Raid Battles are offered. However, given the unusual setup of this event, many players may want pointers on when they can find some of these monsters and what exactly they bring to the table. Here are the five best PvE picks players can find during the December Community Day.

5 best PvE choices to find during Pokemon GO's 2024 December Community Day

1) Primarina

Primarina is one of the many Starter Pokemon available during the December Community Day for 2024. Not only does this monster have access to Hydro Cannon, one of the best Water-type moves in Pokemon GO, but it also has access to Charm, one of the best Fairy-type moves. This pairs well with its balanced stat spread favoring offense.

With Waterfall as an alternate fast attack and Moonblast as a different charged attack, it has the potential to be a great Fairy or Water-type raid battler. Primarina evolves from Popplio, which can be encountered in the wild during December 22nd's instance of the event.

2) Conkeldurr

Conkeldurr is another high-tier battler players can pick up from the December Community Day event. With high attack and stamina, it can withstand the constant pressure of even Five-Star Raid Bosses. It also has access to Counter, one of the best fast attacks in Pokemon GO.

While its shadow variant is seen much better for Raid Battles, not every player has access to a Shadow Timburr. This event still makes Conkeldurr accessible while giving those with Shadow Timburr the opportunity to farm resources to fully evolve it. Timburr can be found from hatching eggs found during either December 21st or the 22nd's Community Day instances.

3) Haxorus

Haxorus is one of the best Dragon-type raid battlers in the game, and Niantic is practically giving it away during the December Community Day. Haxorus is a great raid battler for newer players, thanks to its ridiculous attack stat of 284. For those who do not know, this attack stat is identical to Rayquaza's.

Haxorus is a beast at taking down Dragon-type Legendaries, fairly common Five-Star Raid Bosses. Haxorus is obtained through evolving Axew, which can be found from hatching 2-kilometer eggs received during either instance of the December Community Day.

4) Metagross

Metagross can be a very valuable creature for players as long as they have the resources to Mega Evolve it. Mega Evolution can only be used in certain circumstances, but the power boost they give can feel like a free win for the trainer. With Metagross already being a Pseudo-Legendary, the stat boost given by Mega Evolving is more effective than most other Megas.

Metagross evolves from Beldum, one of the few creatures that can only be found during the last 10 minutes of each hour both Community Day instances are live. Evolving a Beldum all the way to Metagross will reward it with access to Meteor Mash, which is a devastating Steel-type attack.

5) Salamence

Salamence is another popular choice players will want to pick up during Pokemon GO's December Community Day. Much like Metagross, it is also a Pseudo-Legendary hailing from the Hoenn region. It is also capable of Mega Evolution, making it a key asset for many Legendary Raid Battles.

If players do choose to bring Mega Salamence to their Raid Battles, it will pair very well with Haxorus, who will receive a boost to its Dragon-type damage with Mega Salamence present. This makes the two an unstoppable duo in many of Pokemon GO's high-tier Raid Battles.
