5 best PvP picks to farm during Pokemon GO Halloween Part 2

The second part of Pokemon GO's yearly Halloween event is finally here, and many players are excited to know what new creatures they can find. This time of the year is great for Pokedex completion, as Ghost-types can be somewhat hard to find during other times. However, some trainers may be more interested in what this event has to offer in terms of competitive play.

Thankfully, trainers interested in the competitive scene will see a few noteworthy encounters throughout this event's duration. Here are five of the best Pokemon players can find during this Halloween celebration in Pokemon GO.

5 best PvP picks from Pokemon GO's Halloween Part 2 event

1) Drifblim

Drifblim will be available from Three-Star Raid Battles during Pokemon GO's Halloween event. The critter will also be sporting a festive costume. On top of this, players will have an increased chance of capturing it in its shiny variant when encountered through this method. Additionally, it can be earned through timed research from the event's $2 ticket.

Drifblim is a Ghost and Flying-type stamina tank with access to debuffing moves like Icy Wind and Mystical Fire. This has led to the creature seeing great success in Great and Ultra League battles. Now is the best time to find a shiny variant with great stats thanks to the bonuses given to current Raid Bosses.

2) Umbreon

Much like Drifblim, Umbreon will be a Three-Star Raid Boss players can find during the Halloween celebration. It will also have a higher chance of appearing in its shiny variant. Umbreon is one the most defensive of Eevee's evolutions, sporting a pure Dark typing and its high stamina and defense stats.

Umbreon's high bulk and access to Psychic for coverage make it one of the better tanking options in both the Great and Ultra Leagues. Psychic works especially well for countering Fighting-types that can contest it. It works well with Steel or Poison-type teammates that can cover its weakness to Fairy-type attacks.

3) Phantump

Phantump is one of the many creatures players may find spawning in the wild during Pokemon GO's Halloween event. While it does not have a boost to its shiny odds, its shiny form can be encountered as well. Phantump is one of the best creatures that can be found during this celebration thanks to its evolution, Trevenant.

Trevenant's access to Shadow Claw makes it a potent attacker while also generating a fair amount of energy. Its typing of Ghost and Grass also makes it ideal for taking care of the many Water-types that inhabit the game's Ultra League. However, while it does possess high stamina, the Pokemon is susceptible to burst damage due to its low defense.

4) Morpeko

Morpeko is one of the newest creatures to come to Pokemon GO and has the unique gimmick of being able to change forms during battle. During the event, Morpeko can be found more frequently from encounters rewarded from the Battle League. It can also be encountered from timed research missions using the $5 event ticket.

Morpeko is an Electric and Dark-type with its attack being its best stat. It is a glass cannon attacker that can buff its damage with each use of the Aura Wheel, its signature move. This move also changes its form depending on whether Morpeko is in its Full Belly mode or its Hangry mode.

Inkay is another creature players can encounter during Pokemon GO's Halloween event through wild spawns. This creature is a Dark and Psychic-type, an almost completely unique type combination. It also evolves into Malamar, a bulky stamina tank with access to a great array of coverage options.

Malamar's high stamina and only two weaknesses can make it quite annoying to deal with. Only Bug and Fairy-type moves are capable of dealing heavy damage to the Pocket Monster. With a moveset of Psywave, Foul Play, and Superpower, the Pokemon makes great use of both of its typings offensively, while having a Fighting-type move for pesky Steel-types.
