5 best PvP picks to farm during Pokemon GO Into the Wild

Pokemon GO's Into the Wild event is in full swing. This event serves as an appetizer for the upcoming Wild Area global event that will follow suit soon. Surprisingly, this event has a fair amount of event-exclusive spawns in it, with an additional rotating roster of Five-Star Raid Bosses each day the Into the Wild event passes.

Some players might wonder what the best Pokemon to find will be. The competitive scene for Pokemon GO is growing larger with each passing day, so the audience for the Battle League is wider than ever. Here are five of the best creatures players can find for battles during the Into the Wild event.

Best PvP picks to find during Pokemon GO's Into the Wild event

1) Magnemite

Magnemite and its first-stage evolution, Magneton will make an appearance as wild encounters during the Into the Wild event. These creatures possess a rare Electric and Steel typing, granting them both strong offense and defense. However, these creatures have the Achilles heel of taking quad-effective damage from Ground-type attacks.

While Magnemite itself is not very useful, Magneton and its final evolution, Magnezone are both solid contenders in Pokemon GO's Great League. While they are not overpowered by any means, these creatures can be a great starting point for new players looking for an easy team to take their first step into competitive battling.

2) Ivysaur

Ivysaur is one of the many event spawns players can find in the wild during Pokemon GO's current event. Ivysaur, on its own, is pretty decent in the Great League, but the real value is derived from its evolution, Venusaur. Venusaur is one of the game's most bulky Grass-types, with a helpful secondary Poison typing.

Not only is Venusaur a great choice for Pokemon GO's Great and Ultra Leagues, but it is also useful for its Mega Evolution. While it cannot participate in competitive battles, Mega Venusaur is still a great option for Raid Battles and gym attacks. Overall, Ivysaur is one of the most valuable Pokemon players can find during this event.

Grubbin is another wild Pokemon players can find spawning during the Into the Wild event. This little bug from the Alola region has two evolutions that have seen varying success in Pokemon GO's Battle League. Charjabug has been used in the past to win World Championships, but Vikavolt has somewhat gotten worse in recent years.

However, Vikavolt is still a decent starting choice for trainers looking to start participating in Raid Battles, as it still has a high attack stat and some interesting offensive coverage. Charjabug is the true battling star of this Pokemon family thanks to its high bulk and combat power limit for the Great League format.

4) Origin Dialga

Origin Dialga will be the Five-Star Raid Boss players can find on November 21, 2024. Not only does this form of Dialga come with its signature Adventure Effect, Roar of Time, but it can also be found in its shiny variant. Unlike Giratina, who has two unique playstyles with each form, Dialga's Origin form is a direct upgrade to the standard variety.

Dialga's Steel and Dragon typing made it one of the best defensive Legendaries in Master League. With the release of Origin Dialga, the use of this species has only increased thanks to Origin's optimized stats giving it a better defense stat in exchange for only five points in its base attack.

5) Origin Palkia

Origin Palkia will be available in Five-Star Raid Battles on November 22, 2024. This is also the final day of Pokemon GO's Into the Wild event. Palkia offers an almost unique type combination of Dragon and Water. Origin Palkia is very similar to the regular variant but has access to the species' signature attack, Spacial Rend.

Unlike Dialga, which trades some of its power for defense, Origin Palkia is a straight-up upgrade from its base form. This is thanks to a better movepool in addition to an extra six points in its attack and eight points in its defense. Where the standard Palkia fell off in the Master League, Origin Palkia is avenging its base form by dominating the metagame.
