5 reasons you should be excited for Pokemon GO Wild Area
Niantic's latest addition to Pokemon GO's yearly event roster is on the horizon. Wild Area's gameplay revolves around catching Pocket Monsters and challenging Raid Bosses, similar to GO Tours and GO Fests. Players can also purchase a ticket that grants a large array of bonuses.
Since Wild Area is the newest type of event to come to Pokemon GO, players may not know what its highlights will be. Thankfully, Niantic has released a lot of information about it.
The in-person celebration will take place in Fukuoka, Japan on November 16, 2024, while the global event will take place on November 23, 2024.
5 things to look forward to in Pokemon GO's Wild Area event
1) Safari Balls
Given how Pokemon GO's Wild Area revolves around catching Pocket Monsters, Niantic has given players a way to consistently get higher-tier Poke Balls to sustain long play sessions.
The developer has added a returning Poke Ball from the main series, the Safari Ball, to the mobile game. Used at Safari Zones in the mainline games, Safari Balls became iconic due to their purpose and unique pattern.
Much like the Safari Balls in the main series, Pokemon GO's rendition of the capsules have a boosted capture rate, making them better than the standard Poke Balls. In the source material, thesy have a capture rate similar to Ultra Balls, so it is likely that Niantic will replicate this statistic.

2) Toxel line debut
Toxel, Toxtricity, and Gigantamax Toxtricity will make their grand debut during Wild Area. The trio are some of the most popular creatures to debut in the Galar region, thanks to their interesting design and unique type combination of Poison and Electric.
The event's purchasable ticket increases the chances of finding Toxel from 10 kilometer eggs during its run. Niantic is also releasing these creatures' shiny variants on the same day they debut, which is rarely done.
3) Mighty Pokemon
Niantic has confirmed that a new variant of wild Pokemon will spawn during Wild Area. This information has led many players to believe that these creatures will spawn in the wild alongside regular wild Pocket Monsters.
Mighty Pokemon are all fully evolved, so they should be easy to spot on the map. They will have a much better chance of appearing in XL or XXL sizes and possessing better IVs.
In exchange, Mighty Pokemon will be much harder to capture than their base varieties. Thankfully, Niantic has released the Safari Balls to make it much easier for trainers to catch them.

4) Return of Origin Legendaries
Niantic has confirmed that Origin Dialga and Palkia will be making their return for the Wild Area event. These forms of the iconic Sinnoh Legendaries debuted in Pokemon Legends Arceus and feature more optimized stats compared to their base versions. In Pokemon GO, these creatures also have exclusive Adventure Effects.
Players who have Origin Dialga can use its Roar of Time ability from its stat sceen. Roar of Time pauses the timer on consumable items like Incenses, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces, with the duration scaling with the amount of resources spent.
Origin Palkia has Spacial Rend, an effect that increases the radius in which players can interact with wild Pokemon. The duration of this effect also scales with resources spent.

Pokemon GO's Wild Area finally brings Rock Star and Pop Star Pikachu back to the mobile game. These rare forms of Cosplay Pikachu were only available once before, making them some of the rarest creatures in the game to date.
Additionally, a theme-appropriate Rock 'n' Roll Snorlax will be available during the event. This variant of Snorlax features the beloved Kanto road block in a fashionable lether jacket, complete with pins, spikes, and studs. It may finally dethrone Sunglasses Blastoise as the coolest creature in the mobile title.
