5 things to look forward to in Pokemon GO in October 2024

Niantic has revealed the Pokemon GO content roadmap for October 2024. The developer plans to introduce and bring back multiple Pokemon from the Galar region. The first set of creatures from this area to debut in Max Battles are Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Falinks. Many more will appear for the first time in the game, including Shiny Galarian Articuno, Shiny Galarian Moltres, and Shiny Galarian Zapdos.

Here is a list of five things you should be excited about when it comes to Pokemon GO in October 2024.

Legendary Pokemon and other things to look out for in Pokemon GO (October 2024)

1) The debut of the Shiny Galarian forms of Articuno, Moltes, and Zapdos

Pokemon GO's Galarian Expedition will introduce Shiny Galarian Articuno, Shiny Galarian Moltres, and Shiny Galarian Zapdos. The event will start on October 4, 2024, at 10:00 am local time and end on October 11, 2024, at 8:00 pm local time. During its run, you will also witness the arrival of Shiny Zamazenta.

Note that the Shiny versions of Galarian Articuno, Galarian Motlres, and Galarian Zapdos can only be encountered by activating your Daily Adventure Incense in the game. Therefore, ensure you have these items in your collection.

Shiny Galarian Articuno, Shiny Galarian Moltres, and Shiny Galarian Zapdos are elusive wild creatures, so they are of high value to fans.

2) The introduction of Galarian Starter Pokemon in Max Battles

The names of the Galarian Starter Pocket Monsters are Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. These species made their debut in Pokemon GO a while ago, but they will appear for the first time in one-star Max Battles. However, Shiny Grookey, Shiny Scorbunny, and Shiny Sobble will not enter the action arena.

Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble will be available to encounter in Max Battles in Pokemon GO from October 1, 2024, at 6:00 am local time to October 31, 2024, at 9:00 pm local time.

It's worth noting that Falinks and Shiny Falinks will be introduced in three-star Max Battles. This means you will need to defeat these Power Spot Boosses to get them.

3) The comeback of Legendary Pokemon in raids

Niantic has revealed that trainers will get to see many Legendary Pokemon via raids during October 2024. Among the Raid Bosses, Zamazenta and Shiny Zamazenta are the ones that trainers are really excited to encounter and catch.

Zamazenta's 5-star raids have not taken place for over two years. However, they are coming back again. Moreover, Shiny Zamazenta, which has been absent from the game for so long, is also debuting during these battles.

Here is a list of Legendary Pokemon featuring in Raid Battles for October 2024:

Zacian in 5-star raids: September 28 - October 4
Zamazenta in 5-star raids: October 4 - October 14
Shadow Entier in 5-star Shadow raids: Every Saturday and Sunday in October.
Origin Forme Giratina in 5-star raids: October 14 - October 28
Darkrai in 5-star raids: October 28 - November 4

You can join Raid Hours featuring the following creatures, as their raids will happen more frequently in Pokemon GO:

Zacian Raid Hour on October 6.
Zamzenta Raid Hour on October 9.
Origin Forme Giratina Raid Hour on October 16.

4) Galarian Expedition: Taken Over

Pokemon GO's Galarian Expedition: Taken Over will run from October 8, 2024, at 12:00 am local time to October 11, 2024, at 8:00 pm local time. During its run, you will face members of the Team GO Rocket family and get plenty of opportunities to rescue Shadow Pokemon from them.

The new Shadow Pocket Monsters that you can encounter are Caterpie, Mankey, Roggenrola, Venipede, Karrablast, and Shelmet. Shadow Heatran is the main highlight of Galarian Expedition: Taken Over, as it is the key creature of team leader Giovanni.

5) Spotlight Hour and Community Day

Spotlight Hour and Community Day events happen every month in Pokemon GO. This time, the following creatures will be featured in them.

Pidove Spotlight Hour on October 1
Galarian Slowpoke Spotlight Hour on October 8
Shroomish Spotlight Hour on October 15
Gastly, Duskull, and Litwick Spotlight Hour on October 22
Sewaddle Community Day on October 5

These Pocket Monsters will have boosted spawn rates and special double bonuses during these events.
