5 unreleased Galarian 'mons that could dominate Pokemon GO PvP meta

Pokemon GO's Max Out season is introducing plenty of Galar region monsters after quite a long wait from fans, and some unreleased creatures have the potential to be particularly dangerous in the PvP meta. While nothing is guaranteed, some Galar Pokemon could play a dominant role in PvP in the future upon their eventual release, whenever that may be.

While this is certainly speculation to a significant degree and should be taken with a grain of salt, these Galarian monsters in Pokemon GO have the potential to shake up the PvP meta and dominate it in a significant way.

5 unreleased Galarian monsters in Pokemon GO that could be great in PvP

1) Corviknight

After being a top pick for years, Skarmory has fallen out of favor significantly in Pokemon GO's PvP meta, but a Galarian Flying/Steel-type has the potential to replace and even surpass it. Specifically, the Pokemon Corviknight is well constructed for defensive gameplay without sacrificing much firepower, and it has access to quality moves like Air Slash and Body Slam that could translate well.

Corviknight would be a potent blend of defensive and offensive strength in the PvP meta, and while it has the same two weaknesses as Skarmory, its base stats and potential movesets could see it rise well above Skarmory's status.

2) Urshifu

Urshifu has popped up as a dominant PvP Pokemon in both the core series games as well as the TCG, and it feels like destiny for the Wushu Pokemon to eventually become a dominant force in Pokemon GO PvP. Thanks to possessing two distinct "striking" forms known as Rapid Strike and Single Strike, it can appear with either a Fighting/Water- or Fighting/Dark-type combination.

Granted, these two forms are determined by how Urshifu evolves from its prior evolution Kubfu, but Urshifu is a powerful and physically gifted legendary that could easily skyrocket to become one of the Master League's best partial Fighting-type monsters, even after the nerf to Fast Moves like Counter.

3) Arctozolt

Arctozolt isn't a massive PvP favorite in the core series, but it does have a few factors that could work its way when it arrives in Pokemon GO. Specifically, it has a pretty unique Electric/Ice-type combination and well-rounded base stats between offense and defense. Its lowest base stat in the core series is its Speed stat, which is a stat that simply doesn't exist in GO.

With that in mind, Arctozolt could be a nightmare for Flying-type opponents in particular, and many Flying-types can still be found throughout GO Battle League PvP at every level.

Technically, Ice and Shadow Rider Calyrex are fused Pokemon, created when a Calyrex mounts a Glastrier or Spectrier, respectively. However, since Niantic's mobile title has been introducing new fusions as of late (take Dusk Mane/Dawn Wings Necrozma for example), Ice and Shadow Rider Calyrex might want to be under Niantic's consideration in the future.

While both of these Calyrex forms excel in the core series VGC due to their abilities, they have high-offense base stats and intriguing Psychic/Ice- and Psychic/Ghost-type combinations, so they should translate quite well even without access to the abilities that allow them to shine in core series PvP.

5) Eternatus

Its arrival has been hinted at ever since Dynamax Pokemon debuted, and Eternatus would certainly be capable of shaking up the Master League PvP meta at the very least. It has an intriguing Poison/Dragon-type combination, great base stats, and if GO ever allows Gigantamax Pokemon in specialty format PvP, it has a unique Eternamax form that could make it one of the greatest tanks in the game.

Even without allowing its Eternamax form in PvP, Eternatus has plenty of upside and would have the firepower to contend and even thrive against its fellow partial Dragon-types in Master League PvP, though its maximum CP would likely prohibit it from formats like the Great League.
