All Currencies in Pokemon TCG Pocket, explained

Pokemon TCG Pocket has finally soft-launched its first test build in New Zealand, and players across the globe have their eyes locked on this newest chapter in the popular franchise's beloved card game. As many mobile gamers may expect, the game is a host to many different types of currencies that can be exchanged in the shop.

Like other mobile card games, these currencies can be exchanged for cosmetics that can alter how the player's side of the field appears in PvP matches. Additionally, Pokemon TCG Pocket also offers a battle pass with its own exclusive tier of currency that is available to earn. Here is everything to know about each of Pokemon TCG Pocket's common currencies.

The only currency that players can directly buy is Poke Gold. This rare material can be purchased in bundles, just like premium currencies in other mobile games. Currently, small amounts can also be earned from leveling up one's account, but this could change when the game launches globally on October 30th.

Players can spend Poke Gold on accessories in the store, or they can consume one of these gold bars to speed up the rate at which another set of free booster packs can be earned. One bar of Poke Gold reduces the free pack timer by two hours, but players will need to spend all their Pack Hourglasses before using Poke Gold.

Emblem and Shop tickets can also be earned through completing various missions available in Pokemon TCG Pocket. These items can be exchanged for cosmetic items like card sleeves, play mats, or Emblems for the user's profile. Like the name would imply, Emblem Tickets can only be exchanged for Emblems.

Event Shop tickets are tickets that can only be obtained during events and are rewarded by completing missions for that respective event. These tickets are exchanged at an exclusive shop for limited-time cosmetics. It should be noted that these tickets expire if they are not spent before their event ends.

Special Shop Tickets can be obtained by dismantling high-value cards from the user's collection. Players can only dismantle their duplicates, and the process requires Shinedust, which is a resource gained from obtaining these duplicates. These tickets are also spent at a shop that offers their own exclusive cosmetics.

Finally, there are Premium Tickets. These items are obtained by progressing in Pokemon TCG Pocket's Premium Pass, which can be purchased for $9.99 USD. These Premium Tickets can be redeemed for special cosmetics as well as unique promotional cards.
