How to get Flairs in Pokemon TCG Pocket

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Flairs are cosmetic additions that trainers can unlock for specific cards. They do not provide any stats gain or battle advantage but simply affect how the card looks. There are quite a few Card Flairs that you can unlock, with some depending on the type of Pokemon involved.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's surging popularity has resulted in the app being downloaded more than 30 million times already. Players are rushing to open the three Booster Packs of Genetic Apex expansion and hoping they land some of the rarer ones. Given the mechanics of the game, you will end up with a lot of duplicates. Thankfully, this directly plays into Flairs in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Pokemon TCG Pocket: What are Card Flairs and how to get them

The Card Flairs in Pokemon TCG Pocket add a unique cosmetic touch to any card, provided you meet the requirements. Given a significant part of the game is focused on the visual aesthetics (from card covers and mats to the card illustrations and Immersive Cards), it is no surprise that trainers are eager to learn how to get these Flairs.

The requirements and steps for adding Flairs to your cards are as follows:

  • You need to have the required Shinedust (in-game currency) and at least three copies of the card you want to obtain Flair on.
  • The amount of Shinedust and additional cards needed depends on the rarity of the particular card.
  • Cards with 1-star rarity and above also need Special Shop Tickets to get flairs.
  • Once in-game, open your Card Collection and select the card.
  • Select the Obtain Flair button at the bottom of the screen. The numbers beside will show how many duplicates you have of that card.
  • This will bring up the available Flairs and their costs that you can apply to the card. In my experience, purchasing the first unlocks the next, and so on.
  • Select the Flair you want to apply, preview it, and then hit Exchange to complete the transaction.
  • You can preview the obtained Flairs from the top right drop-down menu when you are viewing the card.

As mentioned above, Flairs won't add to your battle prowess. However, given that Shinedust and duplicate cards are found during a normal playthrough, trainers will not have an issue in meeting these requirements. Even when they aren't getting a new card, they still have some use of the repeated ones.
