How to get Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokemon GO, and can it be shiny?
The Wild Area has introduced the regular and shiny forms of Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokemon GO via 6-star Max Battles. Trainers have to take down these Power Spot Bosses to be able to get their hands on them. Pokemon GO Wild Area was divided into two segments — one that took place locally in Fukuoka, Japan, and the other will be a global event.
Pokemon GO Wild Area: Global will begin at 10:00 pm on November 23, 2024, and run until November 24, 2024, at 6:15 pm.

How can you get Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokemon GO?
There are two ways to get Gigantamax Toxtricity in the said events:
- Beating 6-star Max Battles
- Collecting Special Research encounter rewards
1) Beat 6-star Max Battles
Gigantamax Toxtricity Max Battles can be brought down by utilizing Ground- and Psychic-type Max Moves, as the Punk Pokemon is 256% weak against Ground attacks and 160% vulnerable to Psychic ones. Therefore, the best Max Moves to use would be Max Quake and Max Mind Storm.
Remember that you will need to be in a group of at least 10-40 players to take down the 6-star Max Battles of Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokemon GO, given its difficulty level.
Also, note that you require 800 Max Particles to join these fights. However, they won't be used up unless the creature is defeated successfully. If you’re lucky, you may even encounter Shiny Gigantamax Toxtricity.
Counters for Gigantamax Toxtricity:
- Dynamax Greedent with Mud Shot (for Max Quake) and Crunch or Body Slam
- Dynamax Metagross with Zen Headbutt (for Max Mindstorm) and Earthquake or Psychic

The Wild Area event has announced that trainers may also get Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokemon GO by completing a type-themed Special Research Task. As such, we recommend that you finish this as well.
How to get Shiny Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokemon GO?
The shiny version of Gigantamax Toxtricity will also be available to encounter and catch during the runtime of both of the GO Wild Area events. However, trainers will need luck on their side, to come across these shinies in post-battle scenarios.
