How to get other language cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket
Pokemon TCG Pocket may be reserved for players in New Zealand for the time being, but it supports various languages. This means trainers in the game can collect cards in those languages. But how can you obtain cards that aren't in your default language? The options are all pretty simple, though one method requires you to interact with another player (and at a later date).
Whatever the case, it's worth examining each method for getting cards in other languages in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
How to get different language cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket
Opening packs after changing your game language
You can change your language in Pokemon TCG Pocket by tapping on the three horizontal lines icon while playing the game, navigating to Other, Settings, and then Language Selection. From here, open booster packs, and you'll notice that various cards obtained from the packs are in your set game language. You can then set your language back to your preferred option, simple as that!
Wonder Pick
Once Pokemon TCG Pocket gets its full release on October 30, 2024, it will be globally available. This means that the packs opened by other players and made available via Wonder Pick will contain cards with various languages for you to select.
As long as you have Wonder Stamina to burn, you'll be able to find a litany of cards in different languages via Wonder Pick.
Trading
Currently, trading isn't available in the soft rollout in New Zealand. Moreover, it may not be available during the global launch either, so this method requires some patience.
Be that as it may, once the mechanic has been officially released for TCG Pocket, it will be possible to trade for cards in different languages (since global players can also trade).
Cards in TCG Pocket that are printed in other languages might look nice. However, the difference between card languages is purely aesthetic. For this reason, they'll work exactly the same in battle no matter what language they're translated into.
Having said that, it can be fun to see a card in a different language and see the attacks called out in that same language during battle.
