"I feel like this is exactly what PLZA is supposed to be": Reddit reacts to Pokemon Z leaked plot

The recent Game Freak megaleaks have uncovered more information that could potentially tie to Pokemon Legends Z-A. Like what had happened for the first four generations of the franchise, many players were wondering if Pokemon X and Y would get their tertiary version, Pokemon Z. While this game was never released, plans for this game were found during the leaks.

Users on the PokeLeaks subreddit have begun to discuss these details, and what they might mean for Pokemon Legends Z-A, the most recent game to bring fans back to the Kalos region. This recent wave of leaks has given us more information on Zygarde's many forms as well.

Note: Some aspects of this article are based on leaks. Readers are advised to take the speculation with a grain of salt.

(Spoilers) Scrapped Pokemon Z plot for Zygarde

This leak goes into detail on how Zygarde would have been implemented into Pokemon Z. From what is described, it seems strangely similar to how Zygarde was handled in the Kalos anime, with the cells being scattered across the Kalos region, unifying to form Zygarde when the balance of nature is in jeopardy.

The leak also explains the original reason as to why Zygarde can change forms, and why they look the way they do. The form we all now know as the 10% variant was originally supposed to be an exclusive final form meant for taking down Xerneas, while the form we know as Complete Zygarde was meant to defeat Yveltal.

User crossingcaelum pitches the idea that some of these concepts could be used in the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A title. With the game revolving around the evolution of Kalos' Lumiose City, it is possible that the "natual order" of the world will be put out of balance in the name of progress, upsetting the Legendary Zygarde.

Many players on this post were quick to remember southern Kalos, a region of the map that was confirmed to be scrapped during development. This unreleased portion of the Kalos region has made many players wonder if Game Freak was considering bringing it back for Pokemon Legends Z-A, but it seems unlikely.

What will Zygarde be in Pokemon Legends Z-A?

While its exact position in the game's plot is a bit vague, it can be safely assumed that Zygarde will be a plot point in Pokemon Legends Z-A given the game's name. In Pokemon Legends Arceus, the protagonist was contacted directly by the namesake Mythical Pokemon. The latter then transported them into the past.

Zygarde may interact directly with the player in some way, but whether it will be helpful or harmful cannot be said definitively as of writing. Given the theme of the title, it might be safer to assume that Zygarde will be an antagonistic force, wanting to preserve nature rather than letting humans expand their cities.
