Is Pokemon GO Halloween Ultra Ticket Box worth it?

Fans who have recently visited Pokemon GO's web store may have noticed an update in the inventory, given the start of the game's first Halloween event of the year. One of the items available that may have immediately caught players' attention is the Halloween Ultra Ticket Box.

This box is a bundle, but its contents can be a bit confusing at first glance, as the tickets are simply labeled as "tickets" without directly explaining their purpose. While this box might be valuable to collectors, trainers focused on competitive play may want to skip it.

Similar to other offers on the Pokemon GO web store, identical items are stacked under one icon rather than appearing as separate listings. With this in mind, it's safe to assume that the Halloween Ultra Ticket Box includes both the $5 and $2 tickets.

The $5 ticket features a timed research questline with branching segments, a 3x multiplier for capture candies, and encounters with rare creatures like Spiritomb and the new Morpeko. Players can also choose one of the new Morpeko-themed cosmetic items released for the event.

The $2 ticket, on the other hand, includes simple timed research tasks that grant trainers encounters with various costumed Pokemon.

Additionally, the box contains a Super Incubator, which players can use to hatch eggs. As the best incubator available, it halves the walking distance required to hatch any egg inside. However, it is not a permanent item and disappears after three uses.

Why Pokemon GO's Halloween Ultra Ticket Box may not be worth buying

The value of the Halloween Ultra Ticket Box depends on how often players engage with Pokemon GO. Casual players and competitive battlers might find limited value in the box. While the increase in capture candy is a huge upside, the base event already offers additional candies from catching Pocket Monsters.

Although costumed versions of competitive Pokemon, such as Drifblim and Gengar, are available through the $2 ticket, competitive players may be tempted to purchase the bundle. However, this ticket can be bought individually for less than the $7 Halloween box.

Shiny hunters might appreciate knowing that all the costumed Pokemon encountered through the tickets can be found in their shiny variants. However, given their limited number, it may be difficult for players to farm them effectively.

Ultimately, the true value of the Halloween Ultra Ticket Box is subjective and varies from player to player.
