Given the current assumption in the community that Gen 10 will likely be released sometime in 2026 (marking the 30th anniversary year of the franchise), there's plenty of time left for more leaks and speculations borne out of them. Read on below to learn about the latest one.
NOTE: Given these are based on leaks, readers are advised to take the information with a grain of salt.
Pokemon Gen 10 "Gaia" region might be based on Greece
@CentroLeaks mentioned that the Gen 10 has been internally codenamed "Gaia" - derived from the Greek word that means earth. @Riddler_Khu, another well-known leaker for Pokemon games, mentioned cryptically that Gen 10 will have "too much water," which also fits the bill for Greece.
According to @CentroLeaks, the current set of leaks also mentioned the Gen 10 versions are due to be called Pokemon K and Pokemon N. @StoneLaw_ noted that they could be derived from Kaze (referring wind) and Nami (referring wave), with the final titles being Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves. The post further mentions Gaia as Earth, Kronos as Sky, and Nereus as Sea to back up this speculation.
While there's no doubt that the upcoming generation will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, it remains to be seen if Gen 10 will mark an appearance on Switch 1. @CentroLeaks mentioned that the developers were testing the games on the latter.
