Pokemon GO Bigger preparation guide

The GO Bigger event in Pokemon GO starts on October 26, 2024, bringing the long-awaited debut of Gigantamax Pokemon in the mobile game, starting with the Kanto Starters. While this occasion is pitched as an event, it does not offer very much content outside of these new debuts.

Here is everything to know about the GO Bigger event.

Pokemon GO's GO Bigger does not host any event bonuses or multipliers to resources. However, there is an event-exclusive bundle available in the shop for $7.99 USD. This bundle includes six Max Particle Packs, which totals out to 4,800 Max Particles. Max Particles are required to participate in Max Battles, so it may be a worthwhile investment for hardcore raiders.

Preparing to take on Gigantamax Pokemon during GO Bigger

The battles against Gigantamax Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise are the hardest raids in Pokemon GO yet. For this reason, Niantic has increased the lobby size for Gigantamax Raids from 20 to 40.

These raids will be much easier for trainers in urban areas since they cannot be done remotely. The recommended number of trainers needed to take down one of these bosses is between 10 and 40.

Thankfully, Niantic has released various counters for these bosses since the debut of the Dynamax Mechanic. The standard Dynamax forms of Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur should serve as great choices against whichever of the trio they have the type advantage against: Blastoise for Charizard, Charizard for Venusaur, and Venusaur for Blastoise.

Niantic has also released Dynamax forms for the Galarian Starter trio, making them great counters for GO Bigger's Gigantamax battles. Rillaboom is the best counter to Blastoise, Cinderace can take on Venusaur, and Inteleon is great for facing Charizard.

The most difficult part of taking on one of these Gigantamax Raids is finding enough trainers to participate. Players in smaller towns may have trouble getting people together, especially with the fall season bringing chilly weather.

Is GO Bigger worth participating in?

For trainers outside of urban areas or towns where player numbers are not high, there is no real reason to participate in GO Bigger, especially with the Max variants of the featured creatures being available in the game for months now.

With the Gigantamax Raids also being incredibly difficult, many rural players may find them impossible to complete.
