Pokemon GO datamine shows potential Halloween Part 2 featured 'mons
Pokemon GO's Halloween celebration has been split into two parts for a few years now. While we have information on the first portion of this year's event, there has yet to be an official statement regarding the second part. However, a recent datamine suggests that new costumed creatures, as well as a Gigantamax Pocket Monster, will be introduced to the game.
With this datamine coming after Niantic's official announcement about Gigantamax's addition to the mobile title, it seems legitimate.
Detailing Pokemon GO's Halloween Part 2 datamine
An X post from the Pokemod Group shows sprites for costumed variants of the Rowlet and Froakie lines, as well as their shiny variants. However, it is unconfirmed if these Pocket Monsters will be available through research rewards or through wild encounters.
According to the datamine, Gigantamax Gengar will be available during this year's Halloween event. With Dynamax Gastly confirmed to be coming to the game during the first part of the celebration, Gigantamax Gengar will likely be introduced so that players still have a way to use Gengar in Max Battles if they are unable to complete a Gigantamax Raid.
Given the supposed difficulty of Gigantamax Raids, most players in rural areas may struggle to take on Gigantamax Gengar. Dynamax Gastly will be a One-Star Max Battle Boss, so it will be much easier for trainers to take on by themselves.
Players can evolve a Dynamax Gastly into a Dynamax Gengar to have a Ghost-type critter they can use for Max Battles.

Tips for defeating Gigantamax Gengar in Pokemon GO
Given the limited amont of Max Pokemon currently in Pokemon GO, there is no safe counter players can use against it. The best two options are Dynamax Gengar and Metagross, as they have access to super-effective moves against Gigantamax Gengar. However, these picks are risky as they take super-effective damage from the boss' Ghost-type attacks.
Greedent with Bite and Crunch is another great option, thanks to its Normal typing granting it a resistance to Gengar's Ghost attacks. Bite and Crunch are also Dark-type moves, which deal super-effective damage to Gengar. However, due to Greedent not being a Dark-type Pokemon, these moves will not benefit from the Same-Type Attack Boost, significantly harming its damage potential.
Gigantamax Raid Battles will include an increased lobby size. Up to 40 players can participate in them. With this in mind, if players live in an area with enough trainers, these fights should prove to be no issue.
