Pokemon GO Falinks Raid Day preparation guide
As part of Pokemon GO's Max Out season, Falinks is returning to the mobile title through a special Raid Day. The occasion will see the Pocket Monster spawning much more often in Three-Star Raid Battles. While the creature has been spotted in the game for quite some time now, this event will mark the debut of its shiny variant.
With a new reason to grind out raids, many players will want to know what they should do prior to Falinks' Raid Day going live. Some trainers may also want to know what counters they should use to take down this boss.
Pokemon GO's Falinks Raid Day will take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time.
How to best prepare for Pokemon GO's Falinks Raid Day
To prepare for Pokemon GO's Falinks Raid Day, players will want to collect a good number of Raid Passes. This can be done on the day of the event, as trainers can receive five free Raid Passes from spinning the Photo Disk located at raid locations. This bonus is not in effect beforehand, and free Raid Passes cannot be stockpiled.

Players will also want to make sure they have enough healing items before they go into Raid Battles. Having enough Max Potions and Max Revives on hand can ensure that their best battlers are in fighting condition. Healing items, like Potions and Revives, can be found from spinning Pokestops, gifts, leveling up, or through other methods. They can also be purchased in exchange for Pokecoins.
Trainers can also purchase a $5 event ticket that grants additional bonuses. Ticket holders get a grand total of 14 free Raid Passes during the event, 50% more profile XP, twice the Stardust, and an increased chance of obtaining Rare Candy XLs from the raids. For those who intend on seriously grinding out this event, the price is well worth the additional benefits.
Best counters for Falinks in Pokemon GO
Since Falinks is a pure Fighting-type Pokemon with access to Megahorn, trainers should use Flying or Fairy-type creatures against it.
Since Megahorn deals super-effective damage against Psychic-type critters, players should avoid using any Pocket Monsters of the element unless they are high-damaging glass cannons.
Here are some great counters trainers should consider for Falinks' Raid Day:
- Mega Beedrill
- Mega Salamence
- Mega Altaria
- Mega Rayquaza
- Shadow Mewtwo
- Shadow Unfezant
- Shadow Alakazam
- Shadow Gallade
While not required, using these creatures will provide players with the highest chance of success. If trainers are raiding in groups, they will also have a much higher chance of success. Doing so can make participating in the event much easier for beginners who have yet to gain access to strong Pocket Monsters.
Since Falinks is only a Three-Star Raid Boss, high-leveled players should have no problem taking it on by themselves, especially if they have access to any of the creatures listed above.
