Pokemon GO Festival of Lights 2024 (India): Schedule, event bonuses, and more

Pokemon GO's Festival of Lights celebration is live in-game for Indian trainers. In 2024, The Pokemon Company has chosen to further endear themselves to the subcontinent by releasing a beloved Pocket Monster in traditional garb. Pikachu in a Pink Saree quickly caught the attention of trainers, who scurried to get one for their collection.

Pokemon GO Festival of Lights 2024 (India) overview

Schedule, event bonuses, and debut

Pokemon GO's Festival of Lights 2024 began on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10 am local time and will continue until Monday, November 4, 2024, at 8 pm local time. The event bonuses are as follows:

2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
2× XP for catching Pokémon.
Team GO Rocket balloons appear every 2 hours.
Team GO Rocket Grunts appear more frequently at PokéStops.
Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.

The occasion will mark the debut of Pikachu wearing a pink saree (with shiny encounter possible). The Pokemon Company also revealed a Pikachu wearing a blue kurta (another traditional Indian festive wear), which hasn't yet arrived in Pokemon GO.

The following Field Research tasks and rewards are available in the Festival of Lights 2024 event:

Two lucky Indian trainers will be able to go on a Pokemon GO City Safari: Sao Paulo trip from a special sweepstakes held on the game's Instagram channel.

The Festival of Lights 2024 is also having a physical event in Bengaluru, India, at Phoenix Marketcity on November 3, 2024, from 1 pm local time to 8 pm local time. Niantic stated that trainers will get to enjoy surprises and free giveaways during its run.
