Pokemon GO Oranguru and Passimian Research Day: Schedule, event bonuses, and more
The Pokemon GO Oranguru and Passimian Research Day is right around the corner. Trainers will get to explore event-themed Field Research tasks, encounter the featured pocket monsters, and participate in a paid Timed Research questline during this time. The event takes place on the last day of Psychic Spectacular 2024.

Pokemon GO Oranguru and Passimian Research event explored
Schedule
The event takes place on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2 pm local time to 5 pm local time.
Featured Pokemon
Oranguru and Passimian will be the featured Pokemon of the upcoming Research Day. Trainers can encounter these by completing event-themed Field Research tasks available by spinning the PokeStop Photo Discs. The shiny variants for both Oranguru and Passimian will also be available, with the latter debuting alongside the Research Day event.
Wild encounters
The wild encounters with an increased spawn rate during Oranguru and Passimian Research Day are as follows:
- Mankey [shiny encounter available]
- Aipom [shiny encounter available]
- Slakoth [shiny encounter available]
- Chimchar [shiny encounter available]
- Grookey [shiny encounter available]
Paid Timed Research
Trainers can pick up the event-exclusive Timed Research for US$2.00 (or the same in the player's local currency). The tasks will involve completing Field Research with the rewards being Oranguru and Passimian encounters. These encounters will feature the same chance of the critter being shiny as the Field Research task encounters during the event.
The Oranguru and Passimian Research Day Timed Research must be completed and the rewards redeemed before Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 5 pm local time. Trainers can choose to gift the same to any Pokemon GO friend with whom they are Great Friends or higher.
