Pokemon GO Power Spots look considerably similar to PokeStops and Gyms that are scattered around the map. These locations are related to the Dynamax phenomenon in Niantic's mobile game and appeared for the first time around the world on September 4, 2024.

As with all new in-game mechanics, you might be confused about how Pokemon GO Power Spots work. This article provides all the necessary details about them.


What are Pokemon GO Power Spots?

Power Spots in Pokemon GO are tower-like structures that have a similar design to PokeStops and Gyms. These are the locations where you can find Max Particles and take part in Max Battles.

Power Spots have an iconic aesthetic, wherein they are bright purple and pink and emanate similar-colored energy. You must walk close to them to interact with the structure. Doing so rewards you with Max Particles.

How many Max Particles can you get from Power Spot?

Every time a Power Spot comes up anew, you earn 120 MP the first time you visit it. If the Spot lasts longer than a day, the second time you visit it, you will get only 100 MP.

Where to find Pokemon GO Power Spots

Power Spots appear to be showing anywhere on the map. It is determined by Niantic using internal mechanics, and there is no way for players to add or submit applications for Power Spots. It has been speculated that these locations have been pulled from Google Maps.

You can find the nearest Power Spots from the nearby tab in your game. It's on the bottom left of your screen. However, given the strange nature of Pokemon GO Power Spots, these points of interest may appear in different locations after they expire.

How long do Power Spots in Pokemon GO last?

Once they appear on the map, Power Spots last for a maximum of two days. During this period, you can interact with them once per day. There is a timer associated with each location you can see in the game.
