Pokemon GO Sewaddle Community Day preparation guide
Pokemon GO's Sewaddle Community Day takes place on October 5, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Sewaddle, the highlight of the event, is an iconic Bug-type Pocket Monster of the Unova region along with Venipede. It is also known for its spot on Ash's team in the Unova anime, where it reached its final evolution, Leavanny.
This Community Day will also introduce Sewaddle's shiny variant in Pokemon GO, so many players may want to partake in the event for their chance at an easy Shiny Pokemon.
Here is everything to know to prepare for Pokemon GO's Sewaddle Community Day.
The benefits of Pokemon GO's Sewaddle Community Day
Here is a list of every event bonus that will be available during Pokemon GO's Sewaddle Community Day, as seen on the game's official website:
- 2× Candy for catching Pokemon
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokemon
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust
Of course, the standard increase to shiny spawn rates will also be available as it is a Community Day staple. Meanwhile, extra Candy XLs from catching wild Sewaddle can be helpful for those who intend to use Leavanny in the Battle League.
There is also the additional bonus that grants all Swadloon who evolve into Leavanny during the event access to the fast attack, Shadow Claw. While the move is an interesting choice for the creature to say the least, it offers some helpful coverage options in battle.

Preparing for Sewaddle's Community Day in Pokemon GO
Catching Pocket Monsters is the main form of content in Sewaddle's Community Day. This means that Poke Balls and its upgraded variants will be the most important items for trainers to collect. These things can be acquired for free in large quantities from Adventure Sync rewards. They can also be obtained by spinning Photo Disks.
One Incense is all players need for this event, as the bonus upgrades their duration to three hours when used during Community Days. This boost does not apply to the Daily Adventure Incense, so trainers will need to use one of the standard varities that can be found in the bag.
For five hours after the event concludes, Raid Battles featuring Swadloon will begin to appear. Completing these fights will prompt waves of Sewaddle to appear around the raid location.
If players want to challenge these bonus raids, Raid Passes will also be needed. One can be earned for free daily by spinning the Photo Disk at any gym location.
