Pokemon GO Simply Groundbreaking preparation guide

Pokemon GO's Simply Groundbreaking is just a couple of days away. The event, which runs from November 15, at 10:00 am to November 17, 2024, at 8:00 pm local time, aims to give players access to a wide array of wild Pocket Monsters, with the Ground typing being the focus. However, it really serves as a way for Niantic to debut Dynamax Drilbur before the launch of the Wild Area event.

As such, Simply Groundbreaking is a bit more basic than other events many players will be used to. Nevertheless, some trainers may want to know more about what this celebration has to offer.

Unlike other events, the only bonus in Pokemon GO's Simply Groundbreaking is offered to players with an account at Level 31 or higher. During the celebration, trainers of this level have a doubled chance of receiving Candy XLs from capturing wild creatures.

There is no bonus offered to those under Level 31. This could be due to more focus being given to the upcoming Wild Area in-person event taking place in Japan. Being a new yearly event being debuted by Niantic, the developer most likely devoted a lot of resources to it to make a good first impression on the community.

How to best prepare for Pokemon GO's Simply Groundbreaking event

The main focus of the Simply Groundbreaking event is the new Dynamax Drilbur Max Battle Boss. This creature is being introduced in preparation for the Wild Area 2024 event, which will bring Gigantamax Toxtricity to Pokemon GO. Toxtricity is a Poison- and Electric-type critter, meaning it is very weak to Ground-type attacks.

Since Niantic had yet to introduce a Ground-type Dynamax Pokemon to the game, players have not had an appropriate creature for use in a difficult challenge like Gigantamax Toxtricity's Max Battle. This fight is pitched by Niantic as being the most difficult challenge the mobile title has to offer, so having a good counter is important for many trainers.

With this in mind, stocking up on Max Particles will be the best way to get the most from Simply Groundbreaking. These resources can be purchased from the store or gathered for free from visiting Power Spots.

Max Particles are required for entering any Max Battle, so having a surplus of the resource will allow players to farm for a Dynamax Drilbur with better IVs.

For event-related wild spawns, having Poke Balls on hand is always helpful. Poke Balls are the most abundant items in the game, being available for free from Pokestops and Adventure Sync. Ground-type Pocket Monsters and those themed around sound can be found in the wild during the Simply Groundbreaking event.
