Recapping Pokemon Horizons Episode 66 "System Invasion! Crisis at Naranja Academy!!"
Pokemon Horizons Episode 66 begins with the Terastal Training students returning to Naranja Academy after having taken their tests, and Director Clavell states that all who passed their tests will receive their own Tera Orbs later in the day. Clavell and Gita then suggest a battle tournament where trainers can Terastallize regardless of whether or not they passed their tests, which relieves Liko.
Nemona meets up with our heroes and notes that Paldea's gym leaders have all arrived at the academy to observe the students' progress. Liko notices Grusha is nowhere to be found, but the kids tell Nemona that they'll be taking part in the second half of the tournament, something the fiery Nemona doesn't want to wait around to see.
Dot receives a call from Penny, and the two meet at the nurse's office as Penny reveals that the school is being hacked by the mysterious new teacher they encountered in Pokemon Horizons Episode 55, who watchers know to be Chalce of the Explorers in disguise. Dot and Penny realize this and believe that Chalce is likely stealing data the academy is keeping concerning Terapagos.
The two Pokemon Horizons characters make their way to the principal's office, realizing that the office's PC is being controlled remotely from one of the teachers' PCs in the academy. As the two search for Chalce, Dot calls Liko and Roy and says the Explorers have infiltrated the academy. Liko and Roy initially suspect Coral and Sidian, but Dot points out that another Explorer is posing as a teacher.
The Pokemon Horizons heroes split up to find Chalce, and Liko hears a crash and discovers a security guard having been hit by the move Salt Cure. She has Hattrem heal the guard. Liko heads upstairs with Terapagos and Floragato and informs her friends that the use of Salt Cure means Sidian (who she calls Onigiri due to his school disguise) and his Garganacl are on the grounds.
Meanwhile, Roy exits the art room and encounters "Sandwich," who reveals herself as Coral. The two face off in a battle as Sidian encounters Liko on the school rooftops. Chalce continues her hacking, and Sidian demands that Liko hand over Terapagos, but our Pokemon Horizons Hero refuses and prepares for a fight. Meanwhile, Grusha arrives at the academy, and Hattrem points him upstairs.
Chalce and her Medicham fend off and escape from Dot and Quaxwell/Tinkatink as Roy's Fuecoco and Coral's Glalie face off outside due to Roy's worry that the academy will be damaged. Back on the roof, Floragato and Garganacl clash with Magical Leaf and Salt Cure. The Grass-type starter Pokemon breaks Garganacl's hands but it heals them with Recover as Grusha watches the battle from a window.
Floragato is afflicted by crystals due to the Salt Cure, but the creature refuses to give in. Before Grusha steps in to help, Liko decides to Terastallize Floragato. With a superpowered Magical Leaf attack, Floragato manages to overcome Garganacl's Salt Cure and deal the finishing blow. Sidian tells Liko to remember his name as he flies away on his Aerodactyl.
Elsewhere in our Pokemon Horizons Episode 66 recap, Fuecoco and Glalie are clashing with their Flamethrower and Blizzard attacks. Fortunately, thanks to Roy's bond with Fuecoco, the Fire-type starter Pokemon manages to overpower and defeat Glalie, causing Coral to throw a tantrum and refuse to listen to Chalce's calls to retreat before Sidian scoops her up on Aerodactyl on the way out.
With the Explorers having retreated, Grusha asks Liko to meet him at the principal's office, worrying her since she Terastallized Floragato despite not being approved to do so after losing to Grusha in Pokemon Horizons Episode 63. At the office, our hero encounters Grusha, but also Director Clavell and Geeta, and Liko wastes no time apologizing for Terastallizing against the school rules.
However, Grusha applauds her for her decision and says that he misjudged her, realizing that her true worth as a trainer shone through when she was defending others. Clavell praises Liko for helping to defend the school, and Geeta declares that Liko has passed her Terastal Training test, to our hero's astonishment. Liko thanks the group for their kindness and feels a deep pride in her accomplishments.
Elsewhere, Dot and Penny discuss Chalce's escape via Rotom Phone, realizing that the Explorers got away with the academy's data on Terapagos. However, they concede that at least the Explorers were discovered, and the academy was spared after being heavily damaged. Penny thanks Dot, who then joins Roy in congratulating Liko for passing her Terastal Training test.
Outside on the academy grounds, the second portion of the Course Students Battle Tournament begins. Dendra informs Liko of her first opponent in the tournament; Liko and Roy are both surprised to learn they'll be facing each other, ending Pokemon Horizons Episode 66.
