Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Dark Feraligatr 7-star Tera Raid guide: Counters, weaknesses, and more
After all the fun players had with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Halloween Gengar Raids, Game Freak has decided to follow up by releasing a new 7-Star Tera Raid Boss. This new Raid Boss is Feraligatr, the fully-evolved Water-type starter with a Dark Tera Typing from the Johto region.
Since Feraligatr is a 7-Star Raid Boss, some players may need some help figuring out a strategy for taking it down. This difficulty tier is the highest in the game, so inexperienced raiders may struggle a bit. Here is everything to know about the Dark Feraligatr Tera Raid Boss in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Weaknesses and information for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Dark Feraligatr Tera Raid
Feraligatr is typically a strong Water-type boasting a strong attacking stat. In this instance, Feraligatr has the Dark Tera Typing and access to oppressive moves like Crunch, Liquidation, Ice Punch, and Psychic Fangs. These moves have impressive base damage and are fortified by Feraligatr's Sheer Force hidden ability.
Since Feraligatr will be a pure Dark-type during its respective Tera Raid, it will be weak to Fairy, Fighting, and Bug-type attacks. Given the roster of creatures available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, many players have opted to use Fighting types for this battle. Thankfully, there are a few counters that work great against this boss.

Best counters for Dark Feraligatr in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Being a 7-Star Raid Boss in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Dark Feraligatr is meant to be taken on by a team of trainers through online multiplayer. If trainers opt to recruit others for their attempt at this Raid Battle, there is some flexibility with the counters they can choose to take. However, picks with high defense stats will be the key to victory.
Kommo-o is a popular option thanks to its high defense stat and access to Iron Defense and Body Press. Players can choose to maximize this creature's defense through effort values, individual values, and natures, increasing both its damage against Feraligatr and its survivability. Body Press' damage scales with the user's defense stat, making it the only damaging move Kommo-o needs.
Koraidon can be helpful for trainers as well. Being a Box Art Legendary, this creature can be hard for trainers to find in Pokemon Violet. Thanks to its ability to set up sunny weather, Feraligatr's damage with Liquidation decreases drastically. It can also sustain itself well with Drain Punch and stat-boosting moves.
