Should you be excited for Pokemon GO November 2024 Community Day?

The Pokemon GO Community Day for November 2024 does not seem very exciting if you only look at the feature Pokemon, Mankey. Community Days are meant to allow trainers to catch elusive critters that do not normally appear. However, for the past few iterations, these monthly events have been somewhat underwhelming, and the Pokemon featured have not been exciting enough for most players.

That brings us to the topic of the November 2024 Community Day and whether you should be excited about it. In this article, we will take an objective look at the next month's community day and what it means for trainers worldwide.

Pokemon GO Community Day for November 2024 might shake things up

Mankey in itself may not be the exciting feature of Pokemon GO Community Day in November 2024. The critter is a common appearance in most biomes, and you will frequently encounter it almost every day. Being an original Kanto Pokemon, its spawn rate was already boosted after the last biome update as well. Owing to this, many fans reacted negatively on Reddit after this announcement.

Annihilape, Mankey's final evolution, is also pretty underwhelming and fails to find a place in any of the competitive leagues. Now, this might drastically change since players will now get access to Annihilape's signature move, Rage Fist. Previously unavailable, Rage Fist might be the single savior for this Community Day.

Rage Fist is the November 2024 Community Day's featured attack, and if you evolve Mankey to a Primeape or even Annihilape, the critter will have the Charged Attack. This attack does the following:

  • Trainer Battles (PvP): 50 power and increases Attack by one stage
  • Gyms and raids (PvE): 100 power

The inclusion of Rage Fist can potentially have significant impacts in the competitive Leagues, perhaps making Annihilape a more reliable and consistent Pocket Monster. This also greatly improves the viability of Shadow Annihilape, which previously was not worth all the trouble of evolving from Primeape.

Another great advantage that you should be excited about is the change in evolution condition from Primeape to Annihilape. Normally, you would need to defeat 30 Psychic- or Ghost-type Pokemon with Primeape as your buddy to evolve it into Annihilape. During Community Day, all you need to do is catch 20 Fighting-type Pokemon with Primeape as your buddy to evolve it into Annihilape.

The Pokemon GO Community Day for November 2024 is worth it if you look at it as an opportunity to get a Rage Fist Annihilape. While Mankey itself is pretty common and is not very special, Rage Fist changes the whole scenario. If you have a Shadow variant of Mankey of Primeape in your stores, this will be the most opportune moment to evolve it for some decent firepower.

Lastly, the Community Day will also let you encounter Shiny Mankey with its boosted spawn rates. If you are a collector and want to increase the number of Shiny Pocket Monsters in your kitty, the November 2024 Pokemon GO Community Day should excite you all the more.
