"Another rich celebrity I never listen to for political advice" — Internet reacts to Michael Keaton saying Trump thinks his supporters are "stupid"

On October 23, 2024, American actor Michael Keaton took to Instagram to comment on Trump and Elon Musk's campaigning rally. Addressing viewers, Keaton said his message was for people who were considering attending the former president's rally with Musk and stated:

"They don’t really respect you, they laugh at you behind your back, they think you’re stupid."

Keaton's video went viral on the internet and netizens were quick to express their opinions on the same via X (formerly Twitter). Commenting on how his advice wasn't important, an X user tweeted:

"Another rich celebrity I never listen to for political advice."
"Lmao these people are so delusional to think their opinion means something" an X user stated.
"Keaton is stupid. Nowadays many actors are. Compare them with the Wayne/Mitchum/Stewart /Widmark/Peck/…..era," another X user commented.
"I like Michael Keaton as an actor. Sad" an internet user mentioned.

Moreover, internet users also called out Michael Keaton for his opinion and said they weren't voting for the former president to be their friend:

"We aren't voting for Trump to be our friend... that is absurd. We are voting for him so we can afford gas, food, and housing. Something you would know nothing about, being a rich elitist." an X user stated.
"I'm not voting for Trump to be my friend. I'm voting for him to lower prices and not get us into useless wars." another X user said.

"They’re not your bros"— Michael Keaton comments on Trump in Instagram video

Supporting his argument with something the former president said in 2016, Michael Keaton quoted the Republican nominee stating:

"I’m telling you, when Trump – years ago, I guess – said, ‘I could shoot somebody on 5th Avenue and they’d still vote for me,’ basically what he’s saying in parentheses is, these people are so stupid, they’re so dumb, they’d still vote for me."

Toward the end of his video, Keaton claimed that the Republican nominee has no respect for people.

While Keaton has made it very clear he is not supporting the former president in the upcoming elections, the actor was seen attending Kamala Harris' rally in Western Pennsylvania. The @KamalaforPA account on X posted a video of Michael Keaton wherein the actor addressed people under 30 stating they have a chance to be a hero and "really make the difference."

Commenting on his perspective on the situation if Trump gets elected, Michael Keaton said:

"If [Trump] gets elected, chances are I will be okay. The middle class isn’t going to be okay. If you’re young, you won’t be okay. I’m telling you, it’s going to get bad. I hate to be a negative guy like that. As Kamala said, we ain’t going back.”

In other news, Elon Musk has been supporting the former president in the upcoming elections set to take place on November 5, 2024.

While Musk joined the former president in his rally in Pennsylvania on October 6, 2024, the CEO of Tesla Motors also held a solo event in the former president's support on October 17, 2024, encouraging people in Pennsylvania suburbs to vote for the former President.
