Are Trump's Swiss watches being made at a Wyoming strip mall? CNN's investigation behind ex-president's $100K merchandise explored
On September 26, 2024, Donald Trump announced that he was selling his special Trump Watches at up to $100,000 claiming the watches are made with premium Swiss-made materials. Moreover, the former president took to Truth Social to tell people that they'll love the watches and they'll make for a great Christmas gift.
However, CNN launched an investigation into the manufacturing and distribution of the Swiss watches and found that they were being made at a shopping center in a small city in remote northern Wyoming located close to the border of Montana.
As per CNN, the company behind Trump's line of watches called TheBestWatchesOnEarth LLC is "a nondescript office space", which shares a parking lot with Wendy's fast-food restaurant, H&R Block, and a vape and hemp smoke shop. The news organization, also mentioned that the building of TheBestWatchesOnEarth LLC's office consists of a daycare, but there is no sign of the watches that the former president raved about.
Moreover, when The Independent contacted the former president's team for comments on CNN's findings, his spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said that the watches weren't a "campaign-related venture."
A honey and sneaker company shares the same address as Trump's Swiss watch making company: CNN's investigation explored
As per details of CNN's investigation into the Swiss watchmaking company behind Trump watches, the multinational news organization shared that another company called Kingdom Honey LLC also known as TheBestHoneyOnEarth shares the same address as TheBestWatchesOnEarth LLC.
Additionally, a limited liability corporation selling Trump-themed sneakers has claimed the Wyoming strip address as its own as well and the company sells sneakers via a licensing agreement with the Republican nominee.
While CNN couldn't find any documentation directly linking the honey company to the former president, they tried reaching out to a spokesperson for the honey seller, Vladimir Dmitriev, who declined to answer questions related to the Republican Party nominee. CNN reported that while no questions mentioned the former president, Vladimir told the news organization:
"We’ve received direction from our leadership in the US not to engage with any news agencies (specifically CNN) until after November 5th."
Moreover, all of the corporations in question share Andrew Pierce as the organizer, whose company is the registered agent and the gatekeeper for details about the business that the former president has been promoting in the final weeks before the elections take place.
When CNN reached out to Andrew's representatives, the chief marketing manager of his company, Carol Mendelsohn, said that registered agents don't bear the responsibility for their client's actions and that they won't respond to further communication about Andrew's companies via phone or email.
However, attorney Mark Pierce, who is Andrew Pierce's father and business partner, mentioned in a telephonic interview with CNN that he was unaware of two of their company's clients being in business with the former president until the news organization contacted him. Defending the rights of his clients including the sneaker and watch-making companies, Mark Pierce said that people must take Trump's track record as a businessman into consideration before buying the products he sells.
Commenting on the same, Mark Pierce stated:
“Before spending $100,000 on a watch, they should know who they’re buying it from."
Additionally, the news organization reported that the watch company was created on July 29, 2024, a few months before the former president began promoting the watches.
While CNN has reached out to Trump's campaign and the Trump Organization with a detailed list of questions regarding the former president's partnership with TheBestWatchesOnEarth LLC, neither of the two have responded to the news organization.
