Are the Actor Bahn tunnels under LA real? Viral Starbucks video conspiracy debunked

On October 16, a video about "Actor Bahn tunnels" made it to the social media, by Bill Posley, in which he was having a conversation with Steven Randolph. In the video, which soon went viral, Posley claimed that he had once worked at a secret Starbucks.

According to Posley, the secret Starbucks was apparently present in the Actor Bahn tunnels, which reportedly are a series of secret tunnels under the city of Los Angeles. The video began with Randolph confirming if Posley's NDA was over, to which he nodded postively. Comedian Bill Posley then claimed:

"There's a Starbucks that is like above 'reserve', like a Starbucks that noone's ever heard of or been to."

He then asked Randolph if he even wondered why he never saw the famous personalities stuck in traffic.

Posley claimed that these people had access to secret tunnels under California.

"There is a series of intricate tunnels underneath Los Angeles known as the Actor Bahn. They get access points to move through the city without ever having to be in traffic... Underneath there, in those tunnels is Starbucks' set up at different locations to allow them to get coffees while they're driving..." said Posley.

Steven Randolph further asked Bill Posley who he was particularly talking about. Posley responded seeing celebrities like Seinfeld, Bono, and Oprah in the secret tunnels. Posley also claimed that the people with access to these tunnels didn't have to pay.

The video went quite viral and garnered more than 100,000 likes and over 4,500 comments. The video even got to TikTok where users began speculating about the claims made. The conspiracy video, however, isn't true. Snopes had reported that the duo had shared similar videos previously.

A spokesperson for Starbucks had further confirmed that the claims about a secret outlet were absolutely untrue.

While there are underground tunnels beneath Los Angeles, they aren't operational as Posley claimed about the Actor Bahn tunnels

While comedian Bill Posley claimed that the city had something called the Actor Bahn tunnels underneath it, the reality doesn't seem to be that. The video further seemed satirical in nature, and most netizens too had considered the same. Some, however, decided to believe the claims.

In another similar video which had Posley and Randolph in it, they claimed that Costco had been stealing DNA from its customers. In that clip too, Posley appeared to be a former employee of the company.

As for the underground tunnels present underneath the city, they reportedly have been there since the Prohibition era. Atlas Obscura had also confirmed that the underground tunnels are not operational in the present. This also debunks the claims made in the conspiracy video featuring Bill Posley.

According to The Travel, the tunnels were made sometime in the 1800s, to ease the traffic in the city which had always been a serious problem. The site further mentioned that the series of the now non-functional underground tunnels spread through an area of 11 miles.

Distractify reported that while these tunnels are usually shut down for the public, they are at times utilized for shooting purposes.
