"At least give that hair to a wigmaker!" — Internet reacts to women shaving their heads in protest of Trump's presidential win
A video of women shaving their heads in protest of Donald Trump winning the 2024 United States Presidential election has gone viral on the internet. On November 6, Donald Trump officially beat Democrat nominee Kamala Harris to become the 47th President of the United States of America.
AP News reported that the Republican supremo defeated Harris by 86 electoral votes. The counting ended with Trump on 312 electoral votes, surpassing the favorable figure of 270. Kamala Harris, on the other hand, received 226 electoral votes. In all, she received 7,18,16,262 votes (48.1%), while Donald Trump bagged 7,51,12,005 votes (50.3%).
On November 11, @RealAlexJones posted a video on X showing a few women shaving their heads in protest of Donald Trump's victory.
The three-minute-twenty-six-second clip generated a huge buzz on the internet with several users commenting on the same. Some popular reactions on X read:
"At least give that hair to a wigmaker!" a user wrote on X.
"I'll keep my hair, thanks. Let's go America!!!" another commented.
"I wonder what all the women who lost their hair because they got cancer think about this nonsense?" one user opined.
"A good friend of mine makes wigs for children with cancer and she can use any amount of hair. Did any of these women even bother to donate their hair? Or were they so self involved that it never dawned on them?" one netizen wrote.
Several users compared the act with Britney Spears' shaving of her head in 2007.
"Didn't they put Britney Spears in a locked ward for doing this? I'm thinking it's time to open the padded rooms," another agreed.
"Sadly these chick's are making the issues Brittany delt with and how she delt with them seem extremely rational," one user announced.
One seemingly Republican supporter called the said women "narcissists":
"Even when they shave their head, they are narcissists. Anything for attention and they mistakenly think we care. GenX doesn't care that you cut your hair off and are now even uglier than your personality," a user wrote.
"No, I don’t feel sorry for them no matter what scrambled mess their brains are in. I just wish I could be around 30 years from now to ask them what they were thinking and was it worth it," another declared.
"Does anyone, except these women, really care? Sad, but this will accomplish absolutely nothing," a user inferred on X.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Elon Musk, and other celebrities who reacted to Donald Trump winning the 2024 U.S. presidential election

On November 6, the soon-to-be president was officially declared the winner by the Associated Press after he won the swing state of Wisconsin, thereby crossing the favorable figure of 270 electoral votes.
As news of Trump's victory started spreading, several celebrities took to social media to react to the same. For instance, Freaky Friday actress Jamie Lee Curtis shared her thoughts on Instagram. Posting a photo of the American flag, she wrote:
"It [Donald Trump's win] means a sure return to a more restrictive, some fear draconian time. Many fear their rights will be impeded and denied. Many, minority groups and young people will be afraid. Gay and trans people will be more afraid."
Curtis added:
"We know that many women will now find it difficult to get the reproductive healthcare that they need and deserve. For all those people there will be those who will help you. Me included."
Despite acknowledging that the result wasn't the one she had hoped for, the actress ended the post on a note to keep fighting.
Meanwhile, multi-billionaire tech magnate Elon Musk seemed overjoyed by Donald Trump's win. Soon after the results were declared, the CEO of Tesla wrote:
"The future is gonna be fantastic."
He also talked about a peaceful transition of power in January next year, highlighting the fact that Donald Trump had won both the electoral college and the popular vote 'by a landslide.'
Famous author Stephen King took to X to criticize the election result by talking about the fate of democracy. He wrote:
"There's a sign you can see in many shops that sell beautiful but fragile items: LOVELY TO LOOK AT, DELIGHTFUL TO HOLD, BUT ONCE YOU BREAK IT, THEN IT'S SOLD. You can say the same about democracy."
Moreover, songstress Cardi B opened up about the election during an Instagram live after the election results. Pointing to a comment asking her to be present at Trump's inauguration, she said:
"I swear to god I’m gonna f–k you up, get away from me. I’m sick of you! Burn you’re f–king hats motherf–ker. I’m really sad. I swear to god I’m really sad."
She went on to empathize with Kamala Harris and stated that millions of women were proud of her.
"No matter what, I know that she’s probably emotional right now. I know there’s probably a lot going on in her mind and I know she’s not listening to this, but she will eventually see it," Cardi B said.
Meanwhile, boxer and social media personality Jake Paul celebrated the Trump's win, describing it as a massive step in the right direction. He also urged everyone to unite for the betterment of America.
Some other icons who were distressed by Donald Trump's win included Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Christina Applegate, and John Cusack. On the other hand, podcaster Joe Rogan and Shazam actor Zachary Levi were overjoyed by the results.
