"Ben Simmons giving advice to Michael Jordan"— Internet reacts as Ralo gives advice to Big Meech post his release from prison
Rapper Big Meech was released from prison a few days ago, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons during an interview with journalist Philip Lewis. On October 17, 2024, Philip posted a tweet, indicating that Meech had been taken to community confinement the previous day.
Meanwhile, rapper Ralo shared a statement featuring a piece of advice for Meech through X on Saturday, October 19. His tweet read:
"The streets is dead OG, get this legal money and stay out these f**k ni**as way. Don't even worry about what Ah f**k ni**a say. Most of these so called street ni**as ain't even made Ah million out the dope game, but always talking street Sh*t."
Big Meech was arrested in 2005 and sentenced three years later after being convicted of drug trafficking and money laundering.
Meanwhile, netizens took to the comments section of DJ Akademiks' Instagram post, which included a screenshot of Ralo's tweet, to react to the statement. One user commented:
"Ben Simmons giving advice to Michael Jordan."
The lineup of reactions continued, with most of them referring to different personalities while addressing Ralo's advice. One user humorously suggested that Big Meech would realize his mistake after reading Ralo's message, while another chimed in, saying that Meech doesn't need any advice.
Big Meech's photo goes viral after his release from prison
As mentioned, Meech has been transported to a community confinement, also known as a halfway house, where he will be staying until his sentencing ends on January 27, 2026. Apart from this, he would be on supervised release for five more years.
Big Meech will also participate in a substance abuse program and undergo an alcohol and drug test. A photo of Meech has gained attention on social media, marking the first time that he has been captured coming out of prison.
The picture went viral on October 20, 2024, where he was wearing a black outfit, posing with a person whose identity remains unknown. The photo was reportedly taken at the same community confinement where he was taken.
Following his release, Big Meech's attorney, Brittany K. Barnett, spoke to Brown Girl Grinding's Loren Lorosa, saying that he had been in prison for around two decades. She added that it has been an inspiration to "witness the power of hope and resilience. Brittany continued:
"He's out, but millions more remain trapped inside – there's still so much work to be done. We need to push for real change, for a justice system that recognizes the dignity and potential for redemption in every individual."
Meech gained recognition as the founder of the drug trafficking and money laundering organization Black Mafia Family, or BMF, alongside his brother Terry Lee "Southwest Lee" Flenory. The latter was released back in 2020 to avoid the spreading of COVID-19 among the prison inmates.
According to The Detroit News, BMF accumulated revenue worth millions from their criminal activities, where they reportedly hired hundreds of people for the distribution of cocaine in different locations.
