Did Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens sign a $700 million deal with CBS to compete with The View? Viral claim explored
Facebook page Housewives Drama Daily claimed on November 4, 2024, that Candace Owens and Megyn Kelly were signing a multi-million dollar deal with CBS for a morning show. The social media post was quick to go viral. However, it is worth noting that the claims are not true, and the two Conservative political commentators aren't set to sign any deal with the channel.
The Facebook page shared an image of Megyn and Candace and wrote that the show would "compete with The View."
“Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens Sign $700 Million Deal with CBS for Morning Show to Compete with ‘The View',” the caption read.
The post had amassed over 8000 comments, 4000 shares, and nearly 120,000 reactions at the time of writing this article. Another Facebook page called Current Events also shared the same news item on the same day, with the post amassing over 27,000 reactions.
Despite the claims going viral, they are untrue as there is no proof of either Owens or Kelly signing any deal with CBS. Additionally, it was also revealed that the initial claims came from the SpaceXMania website, which shares parody and satire news. The website is known for its satirical content and political parodies.
Neither Candace Owens nor Megyn Kelly confirmed the CBS deal
The claims that Candace Owens and Megyn Kelly were signing a deal with CBS for a morning show went viral after they were shared on Facebook on Monday. However, neither of the Conservative political commentators has made any statements about the same.
The claims spread from a SpaceXMania website, which specializes in parody and satire news. They published an article about Candace and Megyn's supposed morning show on September 26, 2024. The headline stated that they had signed a "$400 million deal with CBS for a Morning Show to Rival The View”
However, a disclaimer on the site also states that it is a "one-stop destination for satirical news and commentary about the United States of America."
“Our team of writers and editors is dedicated to bringing you the latest and greatest in fake news and absurdity, all with a healthy dose of humor and satire," it adds.
The website also elaborates on the kind of content their readers can expect from the page.
"On this page, you can expect to find all sorts of hilarious stories and parodies about US politics, culture, and society. From outrageous conspiracy theories to outlandish political stunts, we've got it all covered,” it adds.
Considering the popularity of the two political commentators, they would have released press statements to confirm the collaboration. CBS also appears to be a liberal-leaning network, making it highly unlikely that the Conservatives would have their own show with the same.
Hence, it is safe to say that the Facebook post is not true.
Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens seem to be enjoying their own successes. Kelly delivered a speech that supported Donald Trump during a recent Pittsburgh campaign rally. In her speech, she called Trump a "protector of women," citing that as the reason she was voting for him.
“He will close the border and he will keep the boys out of women’s sports where they don’t belong,” Megyn said.
Following Donald Trump’s election win, on the latest episode of her YouTube show, Candace Owens said that she couldn't wait to watch The View. She claimed that she wanted to know what the hosts had to say about Trump, a Republican, winning the Oval Office again. She also remains in the midst of her own speaking tours.
