Claims of gaming streamers X2 Twins passing away have spread like wildfire across social media platforms. This comes after an unidentified netizen took to social media to allege that the Australian duo Jesse and Jordan Eckley died.

The X2 Twins are known for their Twitch and YouTube content, are popular for their Fortnite gameplay. They often participate in tournaments, with Jesse Eckley winning first place at the Summer Smash Tournament on January 27, 2019. The twins have over six million subscribers on their YouTube channel.

As per The Mirror, a TikTok post went viral earlier this week that reported that the famous duo passed away. The social media post read:

“The twin gamers, known as the X2 Twins, both recently passed away. 23 year old Jesse Eckley and Jordan Eckley both died. Due to heart failure for sweating too hard in Fortnite. The twin gamers will be missed.”

However, the X2 Twins are not dead. The post was erroneous as it mentioned wrong age of the twins.

Furthermore, “sweating” has been described as something players do when they “constantly try to excel beyond their expectations, even if they ultimately fall short,” as per Urban Dictionary. It appears as if a netizen was simply poking fun at the duo’s intense gaming style.

Nonetheless, fans had taken to social media to express concern over their health with comments online reading:
