"Didn't Patti already warn us all about Nicole?"— Netizens react as Nicole Scherzinger's comment on Russell Brand's post sparks backlash

Nicole Scherzinger recently took to Instagram and seemingly confirmed that she supports Donald Trump. In a now-deleted comment, she asked Russell Brand where he got his MAGA-themed hat, which raised eyebrows online. This is the first time the actress has voiced her political opinions publicly.

Following Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential elections, Russell Brand took to his Instagram account to post a photo of him holding a red cap that read, “Make Jesus First Again.” In a now-deleted comment, Nicole Scherzinger wrote online, “Where can I get this hat!?” Although she commented under the post, she had not officially “liked” the social media post.

Internet users seemed shocked by the actress's comment, which seemed to suggest that she endorsed the Republican candidate.

"Didn’t Patti already warn us all about Nicole?," one X user said.

It appears like the netizen was referring to Scherzinger’s predecessor, Patti LuPone, who played Norma in 1993's Sunset Boulevard. LuPone was seemingly not keen on the Broadway musical returning to the stage. However, director Jamie Llyod has brought it back on stage with Scherzinger playing Norma Desmond.

Scherzinger had also expressed anxiety over approaching LuPone for advice on how to take on the role. In an interview with Us Weekly on October 20, she said,

“I think I’d be too nervous to speak to Patti LuPone.”

Nicole Scherzinger gained massive traction for her role in Sunset Boulevard. As per The Independent, she also stood as a contender for the Best Actress Tony Award.

When Scherzinger's Instagram comment started gaining traction, people started speculating that Patti knew something about the actress.

“Yeah my first thought was Patti LuPone was on to something,” an X user said.
“I hit that unfollow button so fast,” another internet user said.
“I’m sorry but I will revoke her Queen status if this is the case,” a platform user commented.

Several other people on X slammed the actress and called her an "anti-abortion zealot." As per NME, the former Pussycat Dolls singer nearly turned down her role in the TV adaptation of Dirty Dancing in 2016 because of her anti-abortion stance.

“Always knew something was off with her,” an X user said.
“Well now I know for sure that the pussycats are never going to make a recovery,” a platform user said.
“When one post gets the internet to post all your past problematic s**t. Turns out Nicole is also a huge anti-abortion zealot,” a netizen said.
