"Does he think he's a choir director now??" — Internet reacts to Trump moving his arms to Andrea Bocelli's Time To Say Goodbye in Pennsylvania
On Monday, October 14, Donald Trump attended a town hall event at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center & Fairgrounds in Pennsylvania. After the event was interrupted twice due to medical emergencies in the crowd, the former president decided to play Andrea Bocelli's Time To Say Goodbye.
Accompanied by South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, the former president addressed concerns related to immigration and cost-cutting. While he attempted to answer questions, the medical emergencies occurred at the event.
This prompted him to suggest the team play his favorite songs, starting with Franz Schubert's Ave Maria and James Brown's It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World. After a person in the crowd had a medical emergency, Trump asked the venue authorities to open the doors for better ventilation.
Shortly after, another medical emergency arose in the crowd, leading the ex-president to quip:
"Would anybody else like to faint? Please raise your hand."
This series of events drew attention on social media, with netizens reacting to the situation. One netizen on X, commenting on the Republican candidate moving his arms to Time To Say Goodbye, tweeted:
"Does he think he's a choir director now??"
Here are some popular tweets found on X:
"The music you’re left with when all the cease & desist orders show up from the good recording artists, haha!" a netizen wrote.
"Lawsuit by Andre Butelli against the Trump campaign using his music, in 3..2..1. 😂," added a tweet.
"Y’all…I’m Dead…😂😂😂," commented another user.
Several other users took to X to express their take. A user tweeted:
"Perfect song! GOODBYE @realDonaldTrump GTHOH!"
"Hope he gets sued for using that song," read a tweet.
"Man... He just doing stuff now. This is so bad... Keep it up," wrote a netizen.
In the later part of the campaign event, he went on grooving to several songs, including Village People's YMCA, Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares 2 U, and Guns N' Roses' November Rain. After deciding not to take further questions, he even suggested starting a "music fest" there.
Harris Campaign reacts to Donald Trump at his Pennsylvania event
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung described the event as a success, stating that nobody wanted to leave. He tweeted:
"Total lovefest at the PA townhall! Everyone was so excited they were fainting so @realDonaldTrump turned to music."
The Harris Campaign had a different perspective. They shared clips claiming that the former president acted all confused during the event.
One of the clips even showed the Republican candidate seemingly urging people to cast their votes on January 5, even though the elections are scheduled for November. They further claimed that the former President "stood frozen and silent on stage as music played for 30+ minutes."
News outlets tried reaching out to his team for a comment regarding the Harris Campaign's reactions, but no response has been received as of now.
Meanwhile, while the Republican candidate was in Pennsylvania, Kamala Harris also visited the state on Monday.
