"Give your advertising team a raise" — Internet reacts as Eric Swalwell's ad suggests sending Trump to a nursing home not the White House

An ad from Eric Swalwell's campaign made it to the internet on Wednesday, October 23, on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which a family was seen sending former President Donald Trump to a nursing home. The video gained massive attention online as well.

In the viral ad video, the actor who played the role of the ex-president, interacted with a family under different situations, including a family meal. The actor was even seen making several references to statements made by the former President in reality.

One of the statements referred to when Trump falsely claimed that Haitians were eating pets in Springfield. The family in the ad was then seen accompanying the Republican candidate to a place called "A Place For Trump." A voiceover then says:

"[He] can enjoy the things he loves, like eating cheeseburgers and rage-posting at 3 a.m. So this November, let’s vote to put him in A Place For Trump, because we all know he belongs in a home, just not this one."

The ad caught netizens' attention and many found it hilarious. Here are some popular responses found on X:

A user wrote:

"OMFG! 'I know windmills very much!' Dying here! 🤣."
"The reality is even worse!" added a tweet.
"Wow, what clarity, this is what most people weren’t able to see," complimented another user.

While so many users praised Eric and even found the video funny, many had a different point of view. A user tweeted:

"You couldn’t find someone who can actually do a decent Trump impersonation?"
"It’s over pal. Cry yourself to sleep," commented another one.
"What was that Fang Fang? Vote Big Don," wrote a netizen.

The viral ad seemingly used humor to portray Trump's erratic behavior making him unfit to be a President

As mentioned before, the ad from Eric Swalwell's campaign, became a hit among netizens who found it hilarious and on point. Many believed that the video had shown the reality using a tinge of humor and wit.

The ad showed the former President as an unfit elderly man who needs immediate care and attention. The political ad will exclusively be premiered by MeidasTouch. The ad began with a lady who seemed quite worried and said "We were so worried" before being interrupted by the actor playing the ex-President. He then said:

"They’re eating the dogs!"

The woman continued by stating that he wasn't making any sense anymore. Shortly after this, the character of the former President delivered another bizzare statement:

"The people come in. They’re eating the cats!"

During the family meal, he could be seen saying:

"They did dumps! That’s what they call them. Dumps. Big, massive dumps."

The daughter in the family then described the situation to be "gross", following which the concerned woman stated that they "had to do something." The husband in the ad decided to take away Trump's car keys, which according to MeidasTouch, was an implication to losing trust in him.

After Trump is brought to the home, he again showcased his erratic behavior and said:

"Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV."

In the end, he was seen being taken care of by a nurse, where he said:

"I know windmills very much, and they’re driving the whales…I think a little batty."

The ad has made it to the news just a few days before the much awaited Presidential Elections, set to take place on November 5, 2024.
